  • Patent number: 8728207
Abstract: In the method according to the invention for separating mercury from waste gases of a cement production process, the mercury is sorbed on a sorbent, the sorbent is subsequently discharged from the process and supplied to a discharge reactor which is operated with a carrier gas. The sorbent is heated there to temperatures of more than 250° C. so that the mercury is discharged from the sorbent and changed into the gas phase, the gas of the discharge reactor that has accumulated mercury subsequently having the dust removed from it in a preliminary dust removal device, and only a part-flow of the gas which has been enriched and had the dust removed from it in this manner being drawn off at high temperatures and cleaned in a subsequent sorption stage, whilst the remaining part-flow is brought to the temperature required for the discharge of the mercury in the discharge reactor in a heat transfer system and is again supplied as a carrier gas to the discharge reactor.

  • Patent number: 6877445
Abstract: A chamber having a discharge base discharges an oversize fraction of a material and a fine fraction of the material separately from the chamber. The discharge base for the chamber for the heat treatment of the material is capable of separating the fine fraction of the material from the oversize fraction of the material. The discharge base has a plurality of conveyor elements which are movable to and fro for the discharge of the oversize fraction of the material. The discharge base is also provided with separator openings for separating out the fine fraction of the material. The conveyor elements are of bar-shape construction and are disposed in parallel to one another on the discharge base to be moveable in the direction of their longitudinal extent, and the separator openings are formed by longitudinal gaps between the conveyor elements.

  • Publication number: 20040110107
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of cement clinker from cement raw material, wherein preheated raw material is calcined in a calcination zone, then finally burnt to cement clinker in a sintering combustion zone of a kiln supplied with fuel, and the hot cement is cooled in a cooler, and wherein fuel gas is generated from waste-derived fuels in a gasification reactor to which at least one gas conveying pipe for a reagent is connected and which is connected via at least one fuel gas pipe to at least one combustion zone.

  • Patent number: 6544032
Abstract: A method and apparatus for heat treatment of fine-grained material. In order to reduce the nitrogen oxide content of the exhaust gas from the combustion zone, a region of the calcination zone is operated under reducing conditions and ammonia-containing additives are introduced into the calcination zone. In this case, at least the predominant proportion of the ammonia-containing additives is only added in a region of the calcination zone in which the secondary combustion of the combustion products which are formed in the section operated under reducing conditions but are not completely reacted out is largely concluded.

  • Patent number: 6266883
Abstract: A method of forming a grate plate for installation as part of a grate assembly in which free flowing abrasive material is supported for movement along a path while treatment gas flows upwardly through such material. The grate plate includes a relatively thin carrier plate modified to present a highly wear resistant upper surface, the carrier plate having slots formed therein through which treatment gas flows for passage through the material. The method is one which is economical even though the carrier plate itself is formed from relatively expensive material.

  • Patent number: 5947719
Abstract: A grate plate construction for installation as part of a grate assembly in which free flowing material is supported for movement along a path while treatment gas flows upwardly through such material. The construction has a relatively thin carrier plate having a highly wear resistant upper surface mounted in a supporting frame having ribs and webs which form with the carrier plate channels through which treatment gas flows for passage through the material via slots formed in the carrier plate by a high-energy process. The construction is economical even though the carrier plate itself is formed from relatively expensive material.

  • Patent number: 5476377
Abstract: The invention relates to the cooling of hot bulk material, particularly cement clinker, ore material or the like, in a grate cooler, in which the bulk material is transported on the cooler grate surface toward an outlet and exposed to cooling gas from below. At least a part of the relatively cooler lower portion of the material layer is discharged through suitable chutes upstream of the cooler outlet while in transport to increase the cooling efficiency of the process.

  • Patent number: 5264013
Abstract: In this method and this apparatus exit gases to be purified from kiln installations are first of all dedusted in a first filter stage and then in at least one further filter stage they are purified of the NH.sub.x compounds and/or volatile pollutant elements and compounds with at least partial reduction of NO.sub.x with the aid of a carbonaceous filter medium. In order that the filter dust precipitated in the first filter stage can without problems either be re-used in a suitable manner of deposited in simple refuse dumps, the proportion of low-boiling pollutants and pollutant compounds in this precipitated filter dust is reduced by successive method steps in which the said pollutants are evaporated out of the filter dust, the quantities of dust are precipitated out of these vapors and the dedusted vapours are passed through a filter unit containing a carbonaceous filter medium.

  • Patent number: 5219544
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of purifying the exhaust gases from plants for the production of cement clinker, in which the filter zone through which the exhaust gases flow contains at least one adsorption stage in which an adsorbent is provided which is suitable for fixing NH.sub.x compounds, heavy metals and/or trace pollutants, at least a proportion of the adsorbent being removed from the adsorption stage at specific intervals of time and introduced into the final burning zone and/or preheating zone. By such a method the NO.sub.x content of the exhaust gases is significantly reduced, and at the same time heavy metals and trace pollutants are eliminated from the exhaust gases.
