  • Patent number: 5847340
Abstract: The arrangement for mutually locking the actuation of at least two power switches (A, B, C) has a position indicator (7) and an evaluation apparatus (10) for each power switch (A, B, C). A carrying plate (6) accommodating the position indicator (7) and the evaluation apparatus (10) is assigned to a side wall of the power switch (A, B, C). A shaft coupling (30) and a driver coupling (31) establish the connection with a switching shaft or a control shaft, respectively, of a device (32) that releases or locks the actuation of the power switch (A, B, C) when the carrying plate (6) is mounted on the power switch (A, B, C) or on a withdrawable rack (26).

  • Patent number: 5847341
Abstract: An evaluation apparatus for the transmission of mechanical motion used in a system for mutually locking power switches. The apparatus has a first input slide with a coupling member, which can be detachably installed as a driver for an output slide. A guide is provided on a carrier for a second input slide, arranged as a mirror image to the first input slide in relation to the output slide. The evaluation apparatus operates as an AND element when the output slide is equipped with a roller, and the output slide operates optionally as an AND or an OR element when the input slide is provided with one or more additional coupling members.

  • Patent number: 5743385
Abstract: A locking device is fitted in a drive device of a power switch to prevent the switch shaft from rebounding from its off position. The locking device (6) comprises a retainer (7) on the switch shaft (1) and a clamp (10) pivotable about a fixed bearing. The clamp (10) has an arc-shaped aperture to engage with the retainer (7) with considerable overlaps. The clamp (10) is actuated by a working surface on the retainer (7) so that its aperture (17) engages over the retainer (7).

  • Patent number: 5735611
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for an operating shaft of a multi-pole electric switching device with a chassis formed by central and outer walls that are parallel to each other. The bearing arrangement comprises shaft bearings in the form of half-shells. The central walls, which are designed to accommodate the shaft bearings, are each provided with an open recess at its edge. The recess has one bordering edge that corresponds to the radius and width of a groove located on the outer periphery of the half-shells and another bordering edge that corresponds to the outside diameter of the half-shells. A locking piece is attached to the respective wall and secures the half-shells after they have been assembled on the operating shaft.

  • Patent number: 5608365
Abstract: A multi-pole low-voltage power switch designed with several switching chambers per pole and a common switching shaft which acts for the pole units is formed by the switching chambers. The switching shaft is made up of shaft sections which correspond to the pole units. While the central shaft section has central pins and levers, the peripheral shaft sections are fitted with levers and have central apertures in which the pins engage. Bolts which pass through the levers are used to couple the shaft sections together. The pole units rest on a support which is dimensioned to accommodate the maximum width of the pole units and to allow for possible variations in their dimensions. Side walls of the correct dimensions for a pull-out rack enclosed the supporting framework of the power switch on each side.

  • Patent number: 4788453
Abstract: Mechanical signals which are made available in the form of limited travel distances can be fed, for obtaining at least one output variable, to an arrangement in which plungers assigned to the input variable are arranged in space parallel to each other, wherein a slide movably guided likewise parallel to the plungers is provided for the transmsision of force between the plungers. For obtaining a logical AND interconnection, at least one plunger for a first input signal can be guided at the slide and at least one plunger can be arranged approximately opposite the former for the output signal and the slide an have a working surface for at least one corresponding plunger for action by a further input signal. Arrangements of this kind can be used in conjunction with wire tripping devices in electrical switching installations for interlocking purposes.

  • Patent number: 4750375
Abstract: A drive device for a low-voltage circuit breaker comprises a ratchet wheel with teeth which are engaged by a transporting ratchet by a periodic back-and-forth motion of a cage having the transporting ratchet disposed thereon. A stepwise rotation of the ratchet wheel for cocking an energy accumulator is brought about by the motion of the cage. Upon the release of the energy accumulator, which may be a tension spring for closing switch contacts, the ratchet wheel rotates at high speed relative to the transporting ratchet. Damage to the cooperating parts of the ratchet wheel and transporting ratchet is prevented by a centrifugal force level which is supported in the ratchet wheel in a radially tiltable manner and which protrudes during the fast rotation of the ratchet wheel with a working surface of circular arc shape beyond the heads of the teeth, so that the transporting ratchet is kept away from the teeth.

  • Patent number: 4729248
Abstract: A lever arrangement comprises a bearing pin and a supply space arranged next to the bearing opening of at least one of the levers and which contains a high-viscosity lubricant. In the operation of the lever arrangement with alternating tilting direction, the lubricant arrives, due to its inertia, in the respectively unstressed part of the bearing gap between the levers. The arrangement is suited particularly for highly stressed parts in the mechanism of circuit breakers which must be designed for space saving due to the small space available. The service life of such lever arrangements is increased substantially by arranging the lubricant in the supply space. The supply space can be part of a sleeve braced on the bearing pin.

  • Patent number: 4703137
Abstract: A pull-out frame for a switching device with a threaded spindle and a tripping device which can be actuated by a tool provided for actuating the threaded spindle. In the switching device, a coupling member is arranged which transmits the motion of the tripping device of the pull-out frame to a tripping device of the switching meachanism of the switching device. A latching device controlled by the positioning drive makes provision that the tripping device is released only in the course of the travel motion of the switching device for resetting.
