  • Patent number: 4764157
Abstract: A tensioning mechanism for drive belts which consists of a support arm, a rotating tensioning roll mounted on the arm, and a pivot bearing on the support arm a certain distance away from the tensioning roll. The tensioning mechanism is attached together with a mounting plate by a fastener to a machine block. A spring urges the tensioning roll away from the mounting plate and toward the drive belt. In the area of the pivot bearing, the mounting plate has, in the axial direction of the bearing, a fork-shaped cross section with shank sections which support the pivot bearing on both sides, radially and axially, by way of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4755065
Abstract: A cage for a linear or rotationally guided rolling bearing has two uniformly spaced apart smooth boundary surfaces extending in the rolling direction, the cage having pockets adjacent one another in the rolling direction for receiving at least one rolling body. Each pocket has at least one recess pressed in the immediate vicinity of at least one edge in the opposed surfaces of the cage for the production of a holding groove. The walls of the holding groove closely surround dimensionally decreasing sections of the rolling bodies. Each holding groove is formed on the end of one or more holding tongues extending into the pockets. The recesses of the boundary surfaces are in the form of grooves with constant cross section, are pressed only in the holding tongues, and extend across the entire width of the holding tongues.

  • Patent number: 4752280
Abstract: A tensioning arrangement for a drive belt includes a support, a tension roller rotatably mounted on one end of the support, a swivel bearing arranged on the support at a distance from the tension roller, a swivel-damping element in the form of a linear-acting frictional damper having a master piston and a slave piston arranged in and separately frictionally engaging a cylinder, a spring arranged concentrically around the cylinder and coupled to the master piston, and a spring arranged inside the cylinder and coupled to the slave piston. The displacement of the master piston in one direction is opposed by the frictional forces separately acting on both pistons, whereas the displacement of the master piston in the other direction is opposed by the frictional forces acting on only the master piston.

  • Patent number: 4643700
Abstract: A tension roller has a rolling bearing supported by a multipart support which is swivable about an eccentrically arranged mounting bolt. A rolling sleeve for a belt is arranged on the outer ring of the bearing. The support includes two side parts which abut the side surfaces of the bearing inner ring, thereby preventing axial movement. A central body is provided with respect to which the side parts are fixedly arranged. The central body is adapted to provide radial support for the bearing inner ring.

  • Patent number: 4618335
Abstract: A tension-adjusting device for a driving belt comprising a tension roller and having an engagement arrangement provided between a support of the tension roller and a machine frame for enabling stepwise swiveling movement about a partially disengaged mounting bolt. The axis of swivel is radially displaced from the rolling axis of the tension roller. The engagement arrangement comprises a projection formed on the support radially displaced from the axis of swivel and a plurality of depressions formed in the machine frame and arranged at regular intervals along an arc defined by the path of travel of the projection during swiveling, whereby the projection is engageable with each depression, thereby defining a corresponding step in a range of adjustment of the tension of the driving belt.

  • Patent number: 4611931
Abstract: Sealed roller bearing with a plastic jacket, in which this jacket, continuing in the radial direction on at least one side of the roller bearing, is designed to form a seal by way of at least one ring lip with a shaft or the like, characterized in that the seal has annular grooves extending axially on both sides of the radial side surfaces, and in that at least one edge area in the transition from the bore surface to the radial side surfaces is designed as a tilting edge, which lifts the ring lip radially from the sealing surface during axial displacement.

  • Patent number: 4560291
Abstract: A cage for ball bearings consists of two side rings connected together by webs, and having ball pockets with ball pockets having curved partial surfaces inside and outside of the pitch circle and displaced from one another in the axial direction. In this arrangement the rubbing between the walls of the cage pockets and the balls is very small and free space is provided for receiving a lubricant. The pocket walls of the cage sections lying in the region of one or the other of the side rings has several radially-overlying zones, with conical surfaces, the conical surfaces being arranged at different inclinations to the bearing axis.

  • Patent number: 4516962
Abstract: A tension roller for a drive belt is comprised of a two-part pin and a roller rotatably supported on the pin by a rolling bearing. One part of the pin is substantially solid and has a seating surface for receiving the inner ring of the rolling bearing. The other part of the pin is cup-shaped and extends over the seating surface to engage a side surface of the inner ring. An eccentric bore is provided in the pin for mounting the tension roller on a machine frame by means of a mounting screw. The eccentric bore, in the solid portion of the pin, extends to and separates the outer surface of the pin, whereby the mounting screw partially engages the inner ring of the bearing. The arrangement permits the maximum range of tension adjustments for the tension roller.

  • Patent number: 4505369
Abstract: In a clutch throwout, particularly for automotive clutches, a self-centering clutch bearing is arranged on or in a sliding sleeve. The stationary bearing ring of the clutch bearing is connected with the sliding sleeve via an intermediate element, which features guides for the radial sliding, in two mutually crossing radial directions, of the clutch bearing in relation to the sliding sleeve. To enable the clutch bearing to slide in any radial direction and to position itself precisely centered in relation to the tongue ends of the clutch diaphragm spring, without great constraining forces, while, regardless of position, damping the relative movements of clutch bearing in relation to sliding sleeve, intermediate element is radially interlocked with the stationary bearing ring and with the sliding sleeve, in two mutually crossing directions.
