    Abstract: This disclosure relates to a novel process for preparing a class of dithiazolyl-(2,2')-disulfides by the catalytic oxidation of 2-mercaptothiazoles. In particular the present invention involves a process for preparing dibenzothiazyl-disulfides upon the oxidation of a 2-mercaptobenzothiazole in the presence of a tertiary amine.
