Patent number: 8414813Abstract: In a method of making multi-component plastic molded parts, using an apparatus which includes two outer platens with first half-molds, and a middle platen with second half-molds interacting with the first half-molds such as to define cavities in two parting planes for injection of a plastic melt and/or a PUR mixture, one of the first and second half-molds can move in increments relative to the other one of the first and second half-molds, thereby forming different cavities in the parting planes from cycle to cycle. In a first cycle preforms are produced in respective cavities and then held in one of the first and second half-molds as the other one of the first and second half-molds moves in increments. Further components can then be injected into cavities formed in the parting planes from cycle to cycle, while another process step can be executed from cycle to cycle in free half-molds.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2011Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: KraussMaffei Technologies GmbHInventors: Ludwig Jung, Marco Gruber, Andreas Reitberger

Patent number: 6007752Abstract: Sheet-like polyurethane moldings are produced by impregnation of porous sheets with a prepolymer containing free isocyanate groups and reversibly blocked isocyanate-reactive groups or containing free isocyanate-reactive groups and reversibly blocked isocyanate groups, and subsequent reaction of the prepolymers in a heated mold.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1997Date of Patent: December 28, 1999Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dietrich Scherzer, Ludwig Jung, Bernd Bruchmann, Hans Renz

Patent number: 5885394Abstract: In a process for producing sheet-like polyurethane moldings by impregnation of porous sheets with a polyurethane system and subsequent reaction of the polyurethane system in a mold, the porous sheet is first fully impregnated with a polyurethane component, then fully impregnated with the other polyurethane component and the molding is then produced in a heated mold by reaction of the polyurethane components.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1997Date of Patent: March 23, 1999Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dietrich Scherzer, Bernd Bruchmann, Rolf Illguth, Ludwig Jung

Patent number: 5760099Abstract: Rigid polyurethane foams, preferably semirigid polyurethane foams, are produced by reacting an organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with relatively high molecular weight polyhydroxyl compounds and, optionally, low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of water or mixtures of water and physically acting blowing agents, optionally, catalysts, at least one additive selected from the group consisting of sulfonate salts of an acid group-containing alkylene oxide polymer, a phosphonate salt of an acid group-containing alkylene oxide polymer, and mixtures thereof, additional other additives and optionally, auxiliaries. The polyurethane foams produced by this process can be used to produce composite comprising at least one covering layer and at least one layer comprising a rigid or semirigid polyurethane foam produced by the process of the present invention.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1996Date of Patent: June 2, 1998Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventors: Peter Horn, Gerhard Lehr, Sarbananda Chakrabarti, Dieter Hertel, Ludwig Jung
