    Abstract: A zinc negative electrode for alkaline accumulators and method of making same. The zinc and/or zinc compounds are electrochemically deposited upon a current-collection grid in the presence of substances forming low-solubility zincates upon the discharge of the plate. Preferably the substances include calcium and magnesium compounds forming the corresponding zincates substantially immediately upon solubilization of the zinc in the alkaline electrolyte.
