  • Patent number: 4975501
Abstract: The polymerization of chloroprene leads to non-colored products when a mixture of 2.0 to 5.0% by weight of a salt of disproportionated abietic acid and 0.1 to 1.0% by weight, in each case relative to the total amount of monomer, of a compound of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, independently of one another, denote hydrogen or CH.sub.3,m denotes a number from 0 to 14,n denotes a number from 0 to 13,p denotes a number from 0 to 2, andy denotes hydrogen, Na or K, andthe total number of aliphatic carbon atoms is 11 to 15,is used as emulsifier, the emulsifiers having the advantage of being biologically degradable.

  • Patent number: 4745149
Abstract: Thermoplastic elastomers made of 48 to 88% by weight of ethylene-propylene-diene-rubber (EPDM), 10 to 50% by weight of polypropylene (PP) and 2 to 20% by weight of a third polymer and 5 to 60% by weight of softening oil, based on the total of EPDM, PP and the third polymer, and optionally further conventional constituents, have the advantage that the softening oil does not exude.

  • Patent number: 4001163
Abstract: Low-foam carboxylated styrene-butadiene-latices obtained by the emulsion polymerization of monomer mixtures of:73.5 to 18.5 parts by weight of butadiene;20 to 80 parts by weight of styrene;0 to 10 parts by weight of acrylonitrile;0 to 5 parts by weight of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid amides or methylol derivatives thereof; and1.5 to 10 parts by weight of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids;Wherein the ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids consist of a mixture of:1.0 to 4 parts by weight of acrylic acid and0.5 to 6 parts by weight of methacrylic acidAnd wherein less than 0.5 parts by weight of anionic emulsifiers are used for polymerisation. The latices can be used inter alia as an impregnating material for soft non-wovens, cardboards and fiber fleece carpets.
