  • Patent number: 4440292
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the essentially horizontal transport of elongate workpieces transversely to their longitudinal direction, consisting of a supporting framework with vertical legs and with horizontal guide beams which are supported by the legs and which are arranged, at a distance, parallel to the transport direction of the workpieces, of lifting carriages, the track wheels of which are movable in lateral longitudinal channels of the guide beams, but are secured against vertical movements, of a lifting device for lifting the lifting carriage over the top side of the guide beams and for lowering the lifting carriages under the top side of the guide beams, and of a flexible pulling member, of which the ends provided in the upper section of the pulling member are each connected to a lifting carriage and which is guided underneath each guide beam around a direction-changing wheel and a drive wheel in a vertical plane, the direction-changing wheel being mounted with its horizontal pivot axl

  • Patent number: 4338838
Abstract: An apparatus for slitting workpieces has a machine frame which includes a work support, a workpiece stop and a rotary saw which is slidable in the frame. The frame is supported on feet, at least two of which are positioned on a line parallel to the feed path of a workpiece into the apparatus. Another of the feet can be hydraulically withdrawn to allow the machine frame to tilt about an axis defined by engagement of the aforesaid two feet with a bedplate, and thereby to bring the work support and the lower part of the workpiece stop below the workpiece feed path, so that a workpiece may be advanced unobstructed into the apparatus. The apparatus is tilted back to its working position after the workpiece is in its desired position.

  • Patent number: 4268195
Abstract: Apparatus for making holes in arm sections of structural components which employs a vertically movable sensor and indicator device for aligning a perforating device for making a hole in a section of the structural component. The sensor and indicating device provides for precise alignment of the perforating device and includes a gauge and index device attached to the perforating device.

  • Patent number: 4108564
Abstract: A drilling device for workpieces of different sizes is disclosed herein. The drilling device includes a tool carrier supported by a carriage for reciprocable movement thereon along a path and the carriage is also reciprocable along the path. The carriage is biased to a predetermined starting position. When a tool on the tool carrier engages the workpiece, the carriage is moved in the opposite direction and engages a switch to reduce the feed speed of the tool carrier for a short period of time during which the carriage engages a stop to define a fixed drilling position. Upon completion of the drilling operation, a biasing spring moves the carriage in the drilling direction beyond the starting position to actuate a switch and return the tool carrier to a starting position while the carriage is also returned to the starting position.

  • Patent number: 4067252
Abstract: The invention comprises an improved machine tool assemblage incorporating a machine stand in which there are provided cylindrical assembly units located in bores disposed transversely to the working direction of the machine functions to be performed. The cylindrical assembly units contain working cylinders and pistons for operating tool slide mechanisms for performing the requisite functions on workpieces positioned on the machine stand.

  • Patent number: 4012977
Abstract: The apparatus for punching holes in a work member includes a weight-balanced frame member having supported thereon opposed punching die and a matrix. The frame is initially moved vertically to properly position the matrix and die relative to the member to be punched. Located adjacent the matrix are sensing elements that are positioned to be contacted by the member to be punched, which sensing elements, when contacted stop the vertical movement of the frame. This arrangement substantially reduces the pivotal movement of the frame member which occurs during the punching operation and thus greatly minimizes the movement of the balancing weight that is mounted on a lever to maintain the frame in the balanced position free of contact with the member to be punched and thus avoids any substantial acceleration of the weight member which could adversely affect the punching operation.

  • Patent number: 3996830
Abstract: A stamping device with vertically guided frame, which carries the matrix and vertically guides the stamping punch. When the vertically movable stamping punch hits the workpiece to be punched, the frame of the stamping device is lifted until the matrix engages the bottom side of the workpiece, whereupon in response to a further downward movement of the punch, the punching operation is carried out. The frame has associated therewith a balancing weight which is adjustable on the longer arm of a two-arm lever between two side plates of the frame, whereas the shorter arm of the two-arm lever supports the frame. The free end portion of the longer lever arm is connected to the frame by compensating and cushioning spring means.
