  • Patent number: 5425778
Abstract: The actabular socket supporting ring has a modular construction and is formed of a supporting ring having two securing straps for a cement-free attachment in and on the corresponding bone portions, of a socket cup which is pivotably adjustable in the supporting ring and attachable to the supporting ring by a securing element without the use of bone cement, and of an insert receiving the joint head. The modular construction, and in particular, the pivotable arrangement of the socket cup in the supporting ring, allows a biomechanically optimal alignment of the socket cup, and thus, of the insert receiving the joint ball, and the securing of the socket cup to the supporting ring by a securing element allows an entirely cement-free anchorage of all components.

  • Patent number: 4662889
Abstract: A knee joint prosthesis includes a C-shaped femur cap to be fitted onto a resected femur condyle. The C-shaped femur cap is made up of two arch-shaped parts spaced apart and connected by a relatively flat third part. Each of the arch-shaped parts has a different radius. The arch-shaped part with the larger radius has an oblong hole extending in the circumferential direction of the part. A shaft can be placed through the oblong hole from the femur into the tibia. In addition, a tibia cap can be fitted onto the plateau of the tibia.

  • Patent number: 4538306
Abstract: An implantable elbow joint for connecting the upper arm and the forearm includes an axially extending sleeve of C-shape transverse cross-section, a cylindrical member engageable within the sleeve, and a connecting member implantable in the ulna and engageable with the cylindrical member in the sleeve. The sleeve embraces the trochlea of the humerus through an angle of more than 180.degree. about the sleeve axis and also serves as the abutment for supporting the radius. The sleeve has a slot extending in the radial and the circumferential directions. At least in the region of the slot, the internal surface of the sleeve is formed by a cylindrically shaped surface. A cylindrically shaped sliding member is supported in the sleeve in the region of the slot. An elongated shaft is arranged to be inserted into the ulna with one end projecting out of the ulna and extending through the slot into the sliding member.

  • Patent number: 4312079
Abstract: A femur head cap for endoprosthesis possessing a spherical shape and having a recess for partially receiving the femur head, the recess being open toward the neck of the femur. The cap is advantageous in that it can be firmly anchored to avoid rotation and tilting without the use of bone cement and further allows for simple resection to be performed so that supply of blood to the bone is not impaired.
