    Abstract: A fertilizing and soil-conditioning agent is disclosed which is obtained by interaction of lignin (or derivatives thereof such as lignin-sulphonates) with an alkanolamine, preferably a lower aliphatic alkanolamine. The product thus obtained is water soluble and considerably improves the amount and the quality of the crops, while concurrently improving the texture of agricultural soil treated therewith.
