    Abstract: Apparatus for dispersing particles flowing from an orifice comprising a deflecting surface disposed relative to the orifice, wherein the deflecting surface is fixed relative to the orifice, whereby particles flowing from the orifice can impinge upon and can be dispersed by the deflecting surface, wherein the orifice is one of a plurality of orifices disposed in a wall of a conduit, and wherein the conduit has an axis which is oriented between about 45 degrees and about 70 degrees from the vertical such that particles can flow through the conduit and through the orifices by gravity.
