  • Patent number: 6131420
Abstract: It is described a process for manufacturing in crochet galloon machines, ribbons of synthetic fabric provided with flexible hooks for quick-closing devices of the tear type, which process comprises a previous step of knitting a ribbon in which successive sequences of loops are formed. The ribbon is then submitted to a heat treatment adapted to substantially stiffen said loops previously shaped in an angle-bent conformation. Then a cutting operation is carried out on the stiffened loops so as to obtain one hook from each of them.A crochet galloon machine is also provided for forming said ribbons of synthetic fabric, said machine comprising a plurality of shaping elements adapted to form successive sequences of loops with the weft threads, a heat-treatment unit for setting the geometric shape of the loops, and a cutting device intended for cutting off the stiffened loops so as to obtain one hook from each of them.

  • Patent number: 5642631
Abstract: In a crochet machine for warp knitting workings, the vertical oscillations usually imparted to the threading tubes (17) and the eye-pointed needles (11) are replaced by a vertical oscillation imparted to the needles (6) through the needle bar (4). Said needle bar has respective opposite ends fastened to driving arms (8) operated by horizontal-movement means (7) of the needles and in engagement with oscillating supports (26) driven with a vertical reciprocating motion. An idler roller (37) extending between the oscillating supports (26) deviates the article of manufacture (5) coming from the needle bar (4) in a horizontal direction, before the article of manufacture reaches a roller drag unit (35).

The rail, on the surface opposite said inclined flat, comprises two series of opposite transverse grooves 7a, 8a disposed in alignment with each other and between which a central recessed portion 9 is defined which extends longitudinally over the whole length of the rail. The rail can be associated with a number of thread guide elements 10, exhibiting each a rectilinear portion 12 adapted to engage into two aligned transverse grooves, followed by a U-shaped portion 11 engageable on either side of the rail through the engagement of a fitting projection 14 provided thereon, into the longitudinal groove 14. Seen in section the transverse grooves exhibit a profile adapted to mate with that of the corresponding section of the rectilinear portion.

  • Patent number: 4007609
Abstract: Twisted beard needle for crochet frames raschel chain and similar products comprising a rectangular stem, a heel on one end of the stem and a beard with the needle point of the beard bent towards the heel on the other end of the stem in a direction displaced on the side with respect to the longitudinal axis of the needle and in repose being positioned within the cross section of the rectangular stem, the portion of the beard bent towards the heel consisting of two segments inclined upwardly to a point extending above the cross section of the rectangular stem to form an obstacle to the loop which slides on the beard so that the loop is obliged to slack its sliding and to widen to overcome the above-mentioned obstacle constituted by the point, said widening determining the recovery of the thread from the stitch previously formed to thereby tighten more the stitch.
