  • Patent number: 5213172
Abstract: A robot is apt to climb along a trestle structure, particularly the trestle of a pole for high-voltage overhead electric lines, in order to carry work tools from the base to the top of the pole. The robot includes a main support body, at least one slide movable along the body, a first gripping hand carried by the body, a second gripping hand carried by the slide, arms for moving the gripping hands substantially perpendicular to the pole, each gripping hand being equipped with clamping fingers for gripping either an upright of the pole or a ledger of the trestle structure, and at least one position sensor associated with the body for acquiring position data concerning the configuration of either the pole or the trestle structure.

  • Patent number: 5119851
Abstract: The invention relates to an equipment for the maintenance and particularly for the washing of insulator chains supporting high voltage electric lines, which allows operation on a live line. The washing of the insulator chain is performed through jets of washing fluid sprayed in close proximity to and over the whole contour of the insulators. The equipment comprises a guide body movable along the insulator chain, a plurality of washing liquid spraying nozzles mounted on said guide body, and moving means to guide said body along the insulator chain. This moving means consists of at least one track, rotating on two transmission rollers, at least one of these rollers being motor-driven and the active section of the track being in contact with the peripheral edge of the insulators of the chain. According to the invention, the guide body surrounds the insulator chain, at a short distance from the same insulators; the track presents a plurality of tongue teeth, projecting perpendicularly from its outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5106427
Abstract: Process for washing insulators supporting the conductors of an overhead electric live line, with the line energized, by means of a washing head (T) connected to means feeding a detergent fluid to a plurality of spray nozzles (14, 114) carried by the washing head (T) for spraying detergent fluid in close proximity to and over the surface of said insulator (3, 3A), characterized in that the washing head (T) is centered and anchored onto the insulator, and the washing of the insulator is carried out by feeding the detergent fluid to at least part of a plurality of tubular members (13, 113) connected to the washing head, the tubular members being positioned one above the other so as to be insulated one from the other and, in use, at least partially surrounding the insulator.

  • Patent number: 5079891
Abstract: A bidimensional support or tower for overhead electric energy transmission lines is formed of a flat truss structure, the stringers of which consist of at least one truss beam comprising a pair of cold-bent channel sections connected together, with their cavities facing, by means of a zigzag-bent steel rod applied by welding to the flanges of said sections. Said tower comprises two stringers connected by one or more horizontal girders, which stringers can be vertical and parallel, or else converging towards the top substantially in correspondence of the point where the loads are applied, in which latter case a vertical structural element is provided above said point. Said stringers and said vertical structural element are formed of said truss beams, positioned either singly or side-by-side.

  • Patent number: 4646505
Abstract: A structural element for metal structural work is formed, in the manner of a tube, by a pair of half-shell fellow sections, arranged with their concavities opposed and connected together in a discrete manner along their long sides, such as to guarantee a much higher torsional rigidity than that provided by corresponding open sections. The structures which can be obtained with structural elements of this type include flat and three-dimensional girders, particularly in the form of supports for electric lines, of which the stringers are formed with said elements in order to provide high torsional rigidity.
