  • Patent number: 10136824
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods perform magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) for arterial spin labeling (ASL) based parameter quantification. ASL with MRF produces a nuclear magnetic resonance signal time course from which simultaneous quantification of ASL perfusion-related parameters can be achieved. The parameters may include cerebral blood flow, transit time, T1, or other parameters. The quantification uses values from a dictionary of signal time courses that were generated or augmented using Bloch simulation, knowledge of the sequence, or previous observations. The dictionary may account for inflow or outflow of labeled spins and may model arterial input. An ASL-MRF pulse sequence may differ from conventional pulse sequences. For example, an ASL-MRF pulse sequence may include non-uniform control pulses, non-uniform label pulses, non-uniform post labeling delay time, non-uniform background suppression pulses, non-uniform acquisition repetition time, or non-uniform acquisition flip angle.

  • Patent number: 10076609
Abstract: Although injection molding includes extreme conditions, an RFID device may be over-molded by injection molding. A syringe includes a barrel having a first and second axial ends, the barrel defining a cavity therein; a plunger configured to be received in the cavity and define with the barrel a chamber for holding a fluid, the plunger being axially moveable within the barrel for increasing and decreasing the volume of the chamber thereby respectively forcing fluid into or out of the chamber; and a plunger seal, also known as a “syringe stopper” for sealing between the plunger and the barrel, the plunger seal including an RFID device for identifying the syringe. The plunger seal may be made by injection molding.

  • Publication number: 20180195605
Abstract: A hydrostatic propulsion drive for a vehicle is disclosed including an electronic control unit and a hydrostatic transmission having a hydraulic pump with an adjustable swept volume and a hydraulic motor with an adjustable swept volume, the hydraulic pump being arranged in a closed hydraulic circuit. The swept volumes of the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor are changeable in accordance with a correction factor which is stored in a characteristic diagram and is dependent on the rotational speed and the drive torque of the hydraulic motor, the operating pressure at the hydraulic motor being increased if the correction factor is used. Due to the increased operating pressure, flow-induced pressure drops are reduced by way of volumetric flows, and leakage flows via gaps between moving parts of the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor are kept large enough to avoid excessive friction and loss of efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20180126923
Abstract: A cover for a switch includes a body having a thru-hole for receiving the switch. Retainers supported by the body each have a groove facing the thru-hole and guide surfaces extending upward from an edge of a bottom surface of the retainers to a lower edge of the groove. The outer surface may be contoured and the contoured outer surface may be oblong. The cover may be used in a switch assembly for a vehicle. The switch has a base extending from a surface of the vehicle and first and second flexible members extending outwardly from the base in a normal position. The guide surfaces deflect the flexible members from a normal position during installation of the cover. The flexible member returns to the normal position when the cover is placed such that an upper portion of the flexible member is retained within the groove.

  • Patent number: 9812594
Abstract: Disclosed is a solar cell having a collecting electrode on one main surface of a photoelectric conversion section. The collecting electrode includes a first electroconductive layer and a second electroconductive layer in this order from the photoelectric conversion section side, and further includes an insulating layer between the first electroconductive layer and the second electroconductive layer. The first electroconductive layer includes a low-melting-point material, and a part of the second electroconductive layer is conductively connected with the first electroconductive layer through, for example, an opening in the insulating layer. The second electrode layer is preferably formed by a plating method. In addition, it is preferable that before forming the second electroconductive layer, annealing by heating is carried out to generate the opening section in the insulating layer.

  • Publication number: 20170254308
Abstract: A hydrostatic drive includes a hydraulic machine, a hydraulic adjusting device, a high-pressure accumulator, an accumulator-closing valve, and an electronic control unit. The hydraulic machine has a swept volume that is adjustable via the hydraulic adjusting device from a maximum positive swept volume to a maximum negative swept volume via a zero swept volume. • Patent number: 9744373
Abstract: An improved apparatus is provided for transcranial magnetic stimulation in a brain of a subject. The apparatus is comprised of: a plurality of coils electrically connected in series to each other; and a single source of current electrically coupled to one of the plurality of coils. Each coil may include one or more windings of similar dimensions although the size of the windings varies between coils. Each of the coils is further dimensioned to stimulate brain tissue at a given distance while minimizing volume of the brain tissue excited by the magnetic field. During operation, the current source injects time varying current into the coils to create a magnetic field which in turn induces electric fields and eddy-currents inside the brain tissue of the subject.

  • Publication number: 20170234338
Abstract: A hydrostatic drive includes a diesel engine and a hydrostatic adjustable machine which supplies multiple consumers in normal operation as a pump. The machine has a pressure/flow regulator to which is communicated, according to the load-sensing principle, the highest load pressure of the consumers, in particular when the machine is operated as a pump. In order to realize a start/stop function of the diesel engine, a previously charged high-pressure reservoir supplies the hydrostatic machine, which then acts as a starter motor for the diesel engine. In order to switch from pump to starter motor, the hydro-machine is adjusted over zero. In order for this switch to take place quickly and reliably, the pressure/flow regulator is deactivated by means of a switching valve and the adjustment device is supplied with an adjustment pressure medium via the switching valve, which medium is taken from the high-pressure reservoir or from an auxiliary reservoir.
