  • Publication number: 20190249360
Abstract: A method of treating leather or hide is provided whereby a biocide and one or more detectable tags are applied to a piece of leather or hide. The detectable tag(s) can be detected to indicate one or more pieces of information, such as that the biocide has been applied to the piece of leather or hide and/or other information. Information about the biocide and the tannery that applied the biocide or other information can be discerned from detecting the detectable tag or from one or more of the detectable tags if used. A system for tagging leather or hide and applying a biocide are also provided as are methods and systems for detecting the tags.

  • Patent number: 10212937
Abstract: Microbicidal aqueous solutions including (a) monochloramine and (b) at least one peracid, are described. Components (a) and (b) can be present in an effective amount to control the growth of at least one microorganism and the aqueous solution is at a pH of from about 5 to about 12. Methods for controlling the growth of microorganisms are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 26, 2019
    Assignee: Buckman Laboratories International, Inc.
Inventors: David Oppong, Luis Zugno, Thomas E. McNeel, Shawn Paul Frenzel
  • Patent number: 9955698
Abstract: Microbicidal compositions including (a) monochloramine and (b) at least one peracid, are described. Components (a) and (b) can be present in a synergistically effective amount to control the growth of at least one microorganism. Methods for controlling the growth of microorganisms with the application of the monochloramine and at least one peracid are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9078436
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of treating an aqueous system for biocide control, by adding an acidified solution that includes monoalkyldithiocarbamate salt and alkyl isothiocyanate to an aqueous system. A biocide feed system is also provided that is configured to generate a reproducible level of alkyl isothiocyanate. The method and system provide effective levels of alkyl isothiocyanate for rapid biocidal activity, along with levels of monoalkyldithiocarbamate salt which can decompose to form additional alkyl isothiocyanate and provide longer-term biocidal activity.
