  • Publication number: 20260042353
Abstract: A method for controlling an operation of a separately excited electric machine, particularly of a motor vehicle, in a fault condition. The following steps are performed in the method: (1) detecting a present current vector, particularly a stator current vector, and/or a current angle, particularly a stator current angle, of the separately excited electric machine; (2) determining a variation voltage vector depending on the detected present current vector and/or current angle; (3) changing the present operating point of the separately excited electric machine to a changed operating point by setting the variation voltage vector, wherein the power generated by the change in the operating point is equal to the power loss, particularly the thermal power loss, of the separately excited electric machine, or is less than the power loss, particularly the thermal power loss, of the separately excited electric machine; and (4) executing an active short-circuit state proceeding from the changed operating point.

  • Publication number: 20250038623
Abstract: A method for the operation of an electric machine, particularly of a motor vehicle, having a transmission device with a primary side, particularly a stationary primary side, an inductive exciter device and includes a secondary side particularly connected to a rotor of the electric machine, switch devices of the inductive exciter device being operated in a defined switching state with a defined switching frequency in order to transmit an electrical signal inductively from the primary side to the secondary side by the inductive exciter device. The inductive exciter device is operated between at least two switching states in a non-switching state in which switch devices of the inductive exciter device are not switched, in particular until a subsequent switching state.

  • Patent number: 11757388
Abstract: A method suitable for characterizing a motor, for instance a permanent magnet synchronous motor, includes obtaining a plurality of winding flux linkage values or terminal voltages of the motor, each corresponding to a different combination of phase current magnitude and phase advance. The resultant flux-linkage values or terminal voltages are transformed into the rotor dq reference frame. The flux linkage model is fitted to the one or more dq-axis flux-linkage values or terminal voltages and their linked phase current magnitude and phase advance using a process of parametric optimisation.

  • Publication number: 20230272829
Abstract: A friction pad carrier for a vehicle disc brake includes a frame having an aperture through which a portion of a rotor rotating about a rotational axis extends. The frame mounts friction pads on opposite sides of the rotor. The frame includes lugs proximate each end that receive fasteners coupling the frame to an anchor plate mounted on an axle of the vehicle. The fasteners permit some amount of surge movement and sway movement between the frame and the anchor plate in a plane at the interface between the frame and the anchor plate and yaw movement about an axis perpendicular to the plane. A first alignment pin between one of the lugs and the anchor plate inhibits the amount of surge movement and sway movement and a second alignment pin between one of the lugs and the anchor plate inhibits the amount of yaw movement.

  • Patent number: 11146197
Abstract: A method of controlling a motor, for example of an electric power steering system, includes receiving a motor torque demand signal indicative of a torque required from the motor. A current demand signal indicative of the currents to be applied to each phase to meet the torque demand is generated from the motor torque demand signal. One or more operational values from the motor are determined. The current demand signal is set as a function of one or more parameters of the motor obtained by fitting a flux linkage model to the measured operational values. A motor circuit having the permanent magnet electric motor includes a control stage arranged to generate the current demand signal in response to a torque demanded of the motor. A modifying means modifies the magnitude and/or the phase of the current demanded for each phase of the motor by the controller.

  • Patent number: 6603569
Abstract: A fax interface unit provides a novel way of sending and receiving a fax over a global computer network such as the internet. The fax interface unit is coupled to a legacy fax machine on one side and to both a local area network and the telephone network on the other side. When a first location transmits a fax document to a second location having an email address capable of receiving the fax document, the telephone network is bypassed and the transmitted fax document arrives as email at the second location, thereby reducing telephone cost and providing the second location with an archived document.
