Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a handheld medical suturing device having a handle body with a hinge operatively connected to a handle lever. At a distal end of the handle lever is an actuating arm operatively connected to a bent constrained rigid body, which is operatively connected to a pivoting radial arm. The pivoting radial arm is operatively connected to a curved suturing needle assembly which actuates suture through a tissue upon a user's pivoting of the handle lever relative to the handle body. A bobbin containing suture is disposed in a bobbin carrier, which is engagingly fitted within a fixed bobbin channel that is positioned within the handle body. At least a first thumb lever is fixed to an axle having a mutilated spur gear that engages a rack on the bottom of the bobbin carrier, such a rotation of the at least first thumb lever moves the bobbin and suture side to side within the bobbin carrier through a bow to form a knot of suture through the tissue.
