    Abstract: A method of providing a security document with a security feature includes the steps of providing a conductive layer, and removing part of the conductive layer to convert at least a portion of the conductive layer into a metamaterial. The metamaterial is selected to provide for authentication of the security document. It is possible to obtain a security document with this method and to subsequently authenticate the security document.
