  • Patent number: 7770533
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for diverting the flight of birds in order to prevent collisions with overhead wires and cables, such as high-voltage lines. The inventive device comprises a system for fixing same to overhead wires and cables, from which a central body is suspended. The fixing system enables the device to be mounted to or removed from overhead wires and cables of different diameters manually by one person. The diversion device comprises a modular construction, thereby facilitating the transport thereof and the replacement of any part if necessary. Once assembled, the volume of the device is greater than that of the individual parts. All of the device is made form an electrically-insulating polymer material which does not corrode the cables or wires. Moreover, the device can move and the components thereof can have different colors in order to render same more visible. In addition, the components of the device are perforated such as to have low wind resistance.

  • Patent number: 6393885
Abstract: A rolling tool for deep rolling fillets of crankshaft journals is provided. The rolling force is divided and spread by the back up roller and directed onto the laterally spaced side shoulders of the workpiece roller. The fillet rolling forces are then recombined and directed into the fillet by the workpiece rollers which works and compressively stresses the fillets of the pin journals. With the rolling force between the backup rollers divided, there is reduced workpiece roller wear as compared to prior art backup roller designs.

  • Patent number: 6094956
Abstract: Deep rolling equipment for cold working fillet radii of annular undercuts on opposite sides of main bearing and crank pin journals of an engine crankshaft while being rotatably driven. The equipment has pairs of jaws movable between an open position for receiving the crankshaft journal and a closed position for rolling the fillets thereof. The upper jaw mounts fillet rolling tools for high load rolling engagement in the annular undercuts and a lower tool on the opposing lower jaw for support of the journal. The lower tool has a pair of support rollers with annular journal support portions which contact and support the journal while the fillet radii of the undercuts on either side of the journal are being rolled.
