  • Patent number: 10122734
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing and using a secure email verification service. A processor can receive verification data and identify a user identifier associated with a sender identifier included in the verification data. The processor can generate a hash value of the user identifier, a global time indicator, and message-specific data; and send the hash value to the sender device. The processor can receive a verification package that comprises the hash value and a recipient device version of the verification data and generate a new hash value of the user identifier and the recipient device version of the verification data. The processor can compare the new hash value to the hash value to determine if the email message should be verified.

  • Patent number: 8667560
Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a user of a service are disclosed. A host of a service provides a user interface that can be accessed via a display of a terminal. Upon successfully transmitting a first set of credentials, the host requests a random image to be generated by an authentication server. The authentication server transmits the random image to the host, as well as to a mobile device that is associated with the user of the service. The mobile device receives a picture message including the image. The user interface displays a list of images on the display. The user matches the received image with an image among the list of images, wherein a successful match follows in the user being granted access to the service. Consequently, an additional layer of security using a visual identification of a user is provided.

  • Patent number: 8543828
Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating a user of a service are disclosed. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is generated using a plurality of variables, and a user is authenticated by comparing the PIN generated at the user's mobile device with a PIN generated on an authentication server. The authentication enables the user to access a service or resource hosted on a host server. When requesting access to the resource, the user generates a device PIN and transmits the device PIN along with their unique key into the host server. The host server forwards the device PIN and the key to the authentication server. The authentication server generates a server PIN and compares the server PIN to the device PIN. If the two PINS match, the authentication server transmits a successful authentication response to the host server.

  • Patent number: 8499330
Abstract: A method for desktop enterprise security management that addresses the multiple network and desktop security needs of an enterprise, facilitates the development, implementation, and enforcement of the enterprise's desktop security policies and procedures, and provides for review and revision of those policies and procedures. The method is based on a four-stage approach to desktop network security management. The first stage lays the foundation for the enterprise's network security policy. The second stage validates users and desktop devices according to the enterprise's desktop security policies, gathers data, and provides feedback to users regarding their compliance with the enterprise's desktop security policies. The third stage enforces the enterprise's desktop security policies by blocking access by desktop devices and/or users that do not comply with the enterprise's desktop security policies.

  • Patent number: 8438063
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for mobile payment using picture messaging to deliver an image with an encoded payment key. A mobile device equipped with at least a display and an input is used to connect to a server on the mobile network. Upon authentication of a user of the mobile device, the server generates the payment key, encodes the key in an image, such as a bar code, and transmits the image to the mobile device. The user holds the display of the mobile device up to an optical scanner at a POS terminal. Logic on the POS terminal extracts the payment key from the image, and uses the payment key to bill the user. The POS terminal transmits the bill with the payment key to the server on the network. The server ensures that the key is active, and debits an account for the user based on the amount presented in the bill. The key is de-activated after a specified time period or one use, whichever occurs first.

If the two PINs match, the authentication server transmits a successful authentication response to the host server. The PIN generation process is a standard hash process, such as MD5 or SHA1, and uses at least the key provided by the user, a device identifier, and a current date/time.

  • Patent number: 7707626
Abstract: An authentication management platform that enables authentication systems from various vendors to be integrated into a single service offering. The disclosed arrangement can support multiple, distinct customers and multiple primary authentication servers on a single platform. The management platform provides access only to users that enter a valid passcode comprising both: (1) a personal identification number (PIN) and (2) the current code generated by a security token card assigned to that user. The authentication management platform may be configured to be controlled and maintained by the subscriber to the system, or may be serviced/maintained by a third party service provider.
