  • Patent number: 11230445
Abstract: An internal inclined sub-channel, or ramp device, for suspending and/or re-suspending solids within a pipeline system during transport of slurry may be provided to various components of the slurry transport system to control or reduce localized and severe wear that often occurs in slurry pumps. Embodiments of the ramp device may be adequately configured to alter slurry multiphase flow patterns and/or disrupt traditional moving/sliding bed regime phenomena. Embodiments of the ramp device may be adequately configured to raise coarse abrasive particulates from bottom portions of a slurry pipe section—where a higher concentration and/or a larger presence of coarser particles may be present. Embodiments of the ramp device may be installed in proximity of and/or upstream of slurry pumps to prevent occurrences of severe localized wear at the inner diameter of the pump suction side wall around the bottom or 6 o'clock position.

  • Patent number: 10907639
Abstract: A suction pipe inlet device for a centrifugal pump, the device having a hollow tubular axisymmetric body along a longitudinal axis having an open first end adapted for fitting into or against a retention tank; an open second end adapted for fitting into or against an inflow end of a suction pipe having an outer pipe diameter and an inner pipe diameter; a converging section located closer to the retention tank; a diverging section located closer to the suction pipe; a throat located at the intersection point between the converging and diverging sections, the converging and diverging sections defining an interior converging-diverging geometry within the tubular axisymmetric body and the throat defining a minimum inner cross sectional area of the tubular axisymmetric body.

  • Patent number: 10648480
Abstract: Provided are non-limiting embodiments of a wear-resistant impeller having a non-conventional blending provided between a surface of a vane (1) and a surface of at least one of a front side shroud (15) and a rear side shroud (16). The impeller may comprise both a rear side blending (3) and a front side blending (2), and the front side blending (2) may comprise a different geometry from the rear side blending (3). The blending preferably comprises a bulbous geometry which is uniquely adapted for optimizing flow patterns adjacent to the vane and between the front and rear side shrouds in a manner which discourages the formation of horseshoe vortices proximate the leading edge (6) of the vane (1) during operation. Through the reduction, mitigation, or elimination of horseshoe vortices, local high velocities and turbulence are generally minimized, and wear experienced by portions of the impeller (e.g., to one or more vanes) from flows of abrasive slurry can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 10266698
Abstract: The present disclosure provides colorant compounds and methods of isolation of the colorant compounds derived from a reaction of genipin and an amine. The colorant compositions comprise purified compounds (e.g., a purified polymer or a purified dimer) obtained from multiple fractioning by chromatography of the reaction resulting material. The purified polymer or dimer can be used as a colorant by itself or in combination with another colorant for imparting color to a food, a drug, a cosmetic, a medical device, and textile products.
