  • Publication number: 20240068505
Abstract: A connecting device for connecting two mechanical parts includes a rod having a section between a stop and a threaded portion. The rod is inserted into the parts, and a nut is screwed onto the threaded portion in order to hold the parts between the stop and the nut. An anti-rotation system blocks rotation of the nut and includes a washer interacting with the rod to be constrained to rotate with it. The washer has two protuberances, each engaged in a notch of shape complementary to the rod. The anti-rotation system has a ring with an inner periphery of with a shape complementary to that of an outer periphery of the nut in order to be secured to the nut. The ring is secured to the washer by a screw.

  • Publication number: 20060153490
Abstract: Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are particular suitable for measuring strain. However, a single parameter measurement is difficult to implement, since cross-sensitivity to temperature compels the use of an additional temperature reference, e.g. a strain-inactive FBG. The development of a passive athermal fiber Bragg grating strain gage is thus of particular interest since it renders optional the measurement of temperature, benefiting large scale system design and performance. In view of this need, a package for fiber Bragg gratings that enables strain measurements to be performed while canceling temperature sensitivity is disclosed. The proposed design is based on a structure composed of two parts, which can be made of the same material, having a defined length ratio that allows the adjustment of the temperature sensitivity to zero, providing athermal operation of the strain gage.

  • Patent number: 6728274
Abstract: A fiber-optic laser source capable of emitting multiple useful wavelengths at the same time, including multiple ITU grid wavelengths, is disclosed. The laser preferably comprises a diode-pumped rare-earth doped fiber amplifier as gain medium, a periodic filter to define a first set of possible lasing wavelengths corresponding to ITU grid lasing wavelengths, and a resonant filter for defining a subset of the first set of wavelengths. The arrangement is enclosed in a ring resonator. The ring resonator may be made, in part or in total, with polarization-maintaining optical fiber. The resonator may also comprise in-line optical isolators to ensure unidirectional operation and to eliminate undesired reflections. A gain-flattening filter may also be included within the resonator depending on the desired output characteristics of the laser. The laser may be designed to operate in a set of single cavity longitudinal modes.

  • Patent number: 6606331
Abstract: A fiber-optic laser source capable of emitting one useful wavelength at a given time, electrically step-tunable to the ITU grid wavelengths, is disclosed. The laser preferably comprises a diode-pumped rare-earth doped fiber amplifier as gain medium, a periodic filter to define ITU grid lasing wavelengths, and a tunable filter electrically step tunable to any wavelength defined by the periodic filter. The arrangement is enclosed in a ring single mode optical fiber resonator. The ring resonator may be made, in part or in total, with polarization-maintaining optical fiber. The resonator also comprises in-line optical isolators to ensure unidirectional operation and to eliminate undesired reflections. A polarization controller and polarizer device and a gain-flattening filter may also be included within the resonator depending on the desired output characteristics of the laser. The laser may be designed to operate in single cavity longitudinal mode.

  • Patent number: 6267416
Abstract: A connector assembly comprising a retainer mounted axially to tubing, conduit, rod, cable or other axially loaded components behind a male insert having an annular ring or bead or an expanded end portion. Upon assembly of the male insert and retainer into a female receptor, the retainer arm's spring extensions compress to permit entry into the female receptor and once past an annular protrusion in the receptor, resume their normal state. This prevents the female receptor and the male insert from disengaging by the interference between the annular ring, the annular protrusion and the retainer arms and also prevents debris from entering into the joint connection, thereby affecting the operation of the retainer and any sealing means.
