  • Patent number: 12007046
Abstract: A conduit clamping and sealing system includes: a bearing element including: a back segment with an external back thread for attaching to a device or fastening to a box or enclosure; a middle segment for receiving a conduit and guiding and/or aligning a hygienic sleeve system; and a front segment for receiving a seal, and a front nut for sealing a connection between the conduit and the bearing element and fastening the hygienic sleeve system.

  • Publication number: 20230157506
Abstract: An autonomous robot is maneuvered around a feature in an environment along a first trajectory. Data characterizing the first trajectory is stored as a trajectory landmark. The autonomous cleaning robot is maneuvered along a second trajectory. Data characterizing the second trajectory is compared to the trajectory landmark. Based on comparing the data characterizing the second trajectory to the trajectory landmark, it is determined that the first trajectory matches the second trajectory. A transform that aligns the first trajectory with the second trajectory is determined. The transform is applied to an estimate of a position of the autonomous cleaning robot as a correction of the estimate.

  • Patent number: 11181482
Abstract: A mobile phone-based system for ELISA (MELISA). The MELISA system can perform all steps of ELISA procedure and output hormone concentration values. The system includes a heater that keeps the temperature required for sample incubation, illumination system for sample image capturing, and a digital camera system. All components are enclosed in a dark box to create optimal light conditions for image capturing. After sample images are captured, they are digitally processed, and hormone concentration values are reported based on colorimetric data from the samples. The system can be used to complete all steps of the assay, including incubation and reading. It is lightweight, can be fabricated at low cost, is portable, and can transfer test results via mobile phone. MELISA can be calibrated for accurate measurements of progesterone and has demonstrated successful measurements with the calibrated system.

  • Patent number: 9534019
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of preparing extracts of material fermented with Paenibacillus sp., preferably Paenibacillus elgii ourofinensis. The extracts exhibit antimicrobial activity and may be used in the treatment or prophylaxis of infections in animals or plants or as a growth promoter in animals intended for slaughter for human consumption. The invention provides new peptides derived from the fractions of the fermentation of Paenibacillus elgii ourofinensis extract, prepared for example, by n-butanol extraction of the Paenibacillus fermentation broth. The extract may optionally be dried and/or mixed with other components such as appropriate nutritional components to form an animal feed, additional therapeutic adjuvants, or pharmaceutically or agriculturally acceptable carriers. The invention is also related to the isolation of this strain of Paenibacillus, including fermentation in a medium such as corn steep liquor and selection of catalase negative bacteria.

  • Publication number: 20140113817
Abstract: The present invention provides extracts of material fermented with Paenibacillus sp., preferably the one called here Paenibacillus elgii ourofinensis with antimicrobial activity and/or growth promoter in animals intended for slaughter for human consumption. The invention provides new peptides derived from the fractions of the fermentation of Paenibacillus elgii ourofinensis extract, said new peptides having antimicrobial activity and promoting the growth of organisms, for example, plants and animals. The invention is also related to the use of the extract of this new strain, Paenibacillus elgii ourofinensis, as a growth promoter and as an antimicrobial agent in the treatment and prophylaxis of animals intended for human consumption.

  • Patent number: 7233456
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to a method for loading a slider that eliminates the need for a dedicated landing zone at the outer diameter of a platter. In one embodiment, a slider is lowered from a ramp, which is positioned in close proximity to the outer diameter of a platter, and positioned at an initial fly height above the platter without requiring the dedicated landing zone at the outer diameter. The slider is moved towards an inner diameter of the platter. The slider is positioned at an operating fly height above the platter when the slider reaches a certain position relative to the inner diameter.
