  • Patent number: 8688097
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reconfiguring an operational frequency and associated bandwidth used by a femto-cell base station are disclosed. The femto-cell is configured to provide coverage to a User Equipment by connecting to a core telecommunications network via a gateway device. The method includes checking a list of frequencies and associated bandwidths available to a wireless network interface of the femto-cell base station and determining if any of the frequencies in the list matches the operational frequency supported by the User Equipment to which the femto-cell base station is providing coverage. If at least one frequency matches the one supported by the User Equipment, a second frequency is selected from the list of frequencies, said second frequency being established as the operational frequency of the femto-cell base station.

  • Patent number: 8655349
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a femto-cell base station are disclosed. The femto-cell base station is configured to provide coverage to a User Equipment by connecting it to a core telecommunications network using a first frequency belonging to a first radio access technology. The method includes detecting that a fixed network connection of a femto-cell base station is not operative, and, in response to such failure, scanning frequencies in a second radio access technology available to a wireless network interface of the femto-cell base station, said second radio access technology being different than the first radio access technology. If there is any frequency available in said second radio access technology, said frequency in said second radio access technology is established as the operational frequency of a cellular wireless network connection established by the wireless network interface.

  • Patent number: 8150479
Abstract: Fax transmission over a PLMN using a home gateway connected to the originating fax terminal equipment. A call setup request for a fax call destined towards terminating fax terminal equipment is sent. At the originating fax terminal equipment, a reply from the home gateway is received, sending data from the originating fax terminal equipment to the home gateway and storing them in the home gateway. A call establishment request from the home gateway to the PLMN and at least one connection establishment request from the home gateway to the terminating fax terminal equipment are sent. Waiting for a connection establishment confirmation from the terminating fax terminal equipment within a configurable time. When the connection establishment confirmation is received, sending from the home gateway stored data to the terminating fax terminal equipment through the PLMN and optionally a notification on the fax transmission status—to the originating fax terminal equipment.

  • Publication number: 20100296468
Abstract: A device for setting up call switching connections to deliver calls of real time services over a wide area mobile network is described comprising: At least one physical interface for communication with an analog terminal equipment generating incoming calls of real time services; An adapting interface for triggering commands for establishing at least one radio access bearer with a total bit rate of 128 Kbps, for instance, double bearer of 64 Kbps. The adapting interface can be either external to the device and used to connect with a user equipment of the mobile network, or an internal interface of the device constituting a 3G UE which implements the method for establishing these connections in mobile networks for real time services. The method comprises: receiving a call of a real time service from the terminal equipment and triggering commands which contain bearer capability information providing Call Switching connections with 128 Kbps.
