Abstract: A fluid ejection device includes a first edge and an electrical interconnect disposed along the first edge. The fluid ejection device also includes a second edge opposite the first edge. Multiple dies are disposed on the fluid ejection device such that a pair of dies are disposed adjacent the second edge and another die is disposed adjacent the first edge. Each die contains at least one drop-ejecting element. Multiple fluid ejection devices are arranged such that the second edges of the fluid ejection devices are adjacent one another.

Abstract: An electrical interconnect includes an interconnect housing including a side and a face contiguous with the side, a plurality of electrical contacts each supported by the interconnect housing and including a first end and a second end, and an electrical circuit positioned adjacent the side of the interconnect housing, wherein the first end of each of the electrical contacts extends from the side of the interconnect housing and is electrically coupled to the electrical circuit, and the second end of each of the electrical contacts protrudes from the face of the interconnect housing and provides an electrical contact point.

Abstract: An optical device for detecting the printing media in printers includes an element pivoting on two rotation pivots which are incorporated therein a certain distance apart and which are guided in respective independent curved grooves. The pivoting element includes two extensions which point outwards from the central portion of the element, and of which one is intended to receive, at its front and rear edges, the end edges of the laminar printing media during its forward and rearward movements towards and away from the input rollers of the laminar substrate in the printer. The second extension of the pivoting element can move into and out of an opening of the optical detector in a manner corresponding to the rotary movements of the pivoting element brought about by the movements of the printing media.
