The process includes administering to a mammal a composition including at least one unsaturated fatty acid, or a derivative thereof, and at least one feed supplement, wherein the combination is administered in an amount such that the mammal absorbs 1 g to 95 g of the at least one unsaturated fatty acid, or the derivative thereof, per day.
