  • Publication number: 20240140759
Abstract: Disclosed is an elevator system, including a hoistway; an elevator car in the hoistway; sensors in the hoistway operationally coupled to the elevator car and configured to capture sensor data indicative of a person being in the hoistway, and a processor configured to determine from the sensor data that the person is in the hoistway; and wherein the elevator car is configured to reduce speed or stop when the processor determines the person is in the hoistway.

  • Publication number: 20240109752
Abstract: An elevator system (1) including at least one refuge space (7, 8) and at least one sensor (9). The at least one sensor (9) is configured to detect weight in the at least one refuge space (7, 8) and produce at least one safety signal (21) indicating the presence of weight in the at least one refuge space (7, 8). The system can be used to improve the safety in the at least one refuge space (7, 8) in the event that the usual safety procedures have either failed or not been followed. For example, if for some reason the elevator system (1) has not been placed into a safe state before a maintenance worker (10) accesses the at least one refuge space (7, 8), the system will detect them and can produce at least one safety signal immediately indicating their presence in the at least one refuge space.

  • Publication number: 20240067497
Abstract: An elevator safety includes a barrier (108) for installation on an external upper surface (106) of an elevator car (102) and a sensor. The sensor is configured to detect a change in the barrier (108) and the system is configured to produce a safety signal when a change in the barrier (108) is detected by the sensor. The sensor may be configured to detect a movement of at least part (316; 426; 548) of the barrier (108). The sensor may be configured to detect a change in the load applied to at least part (626; 726) of the barrier (108). The sensor may be configured to detect a change in resistance in at least part of the barrier (108).

  • Patent number: 10984200
Abstract: Determining whether a proposed message contextually fits a messaging session. A method obtains a proposed message to be sent in a messaging session between users of a messaging service. The method identifies a context of the proposed message. The method determines whether the proposed message contextually fits the messaging session based on characteristics of an expected response to the proposed message, the characteristics of the expected response being based on patterns of communication between the users. The method also performs processing based on whether the proposed message contextually fits the messaging session.
