  • Patent number: 10960584
Abstract: One general aspect includes a method of manufacturing a handle, the method including: providing a core element; providing a mold; strategically positioning the core element within the mold such that a formable material can be injected into the mold (when in a molten state) to operatively encapsulate the core element and such that the core element remains stationary while being operatively encapsulated by the formable material; and injecting the formable material (when in the molten state) into the mold to operatively encapsulate the core element and be formed, by the mold, into a handle configured to be joined to a window support pillar of a vehicle interior.

  • Patent number: 10434959
Abstract: A vehicle interior trim assembly includes a first trim component and a second trim component. The first trim component includes a first base plate and a protrusion. The second trim component includes a connection clip and a connection suspension. An opening in the connection clip receives the protrusion, and the connection clip engages an underside surface of the protrusion to yield a snap fit between the connection clip and the protrusion. The snap fit secures the second trim component to the first trim component. The connection suspension is configured to yield an interference fit between the connection suspension and one of the first base plate and the protrusion when the second trim component is assembled to the first trim component. The interference fit yields a biasing force that biases the connection clip toward the underside surface of the protrusion to limit movement between the first and second trim components.

  • Publication number: 20150274066
Abstract: An illumination system for an interior of a vehicle is provided. The system includes a translucent substrate and a light pipe positioned proximate to the translucent substrate such that light emitted from the light pipe passes through the translucent substrate into the interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9067531
Abstract: An ambient lighting jig assembly generally includes a support assembly, a trim panel, an insert panel, and a light source. The support assembly defines an inner support cavity. The trim panel is configured to be coupled to the support assembly and at least partly defines a jig opening. The insert panel is configured to be rotatably coupled to the support assembly within the jig opening and has a reflective surface. The light source is configured to emit a light stream. Further, the light source is configured to be rotatably coupled to the support assembly within the inner support cavity at a plurality of angular positions so that the light stream is projected onto the reflective surface for use in determining an optimal angle for the insert panel and the light source.

  • Patent number: 7908709
Abstract: A check link assembly is operatively connectable to a door to provide resistance to the rotation of the door. The amount of resistance varies with the position of the door to provide at least one detent position. The check link assembly stores energy when the door is latched in its closed position, and is configured to release the energy when the door is unlatched so that the door moves toward its open position.
