  • Publication number: 20120091239
Abstract: A description is given of an inclined feed shaft for feeding particulate material to a mill. The feed shaft is configured for rotation about its longitudinal axis. The feed shaft may be configured so that any incipient formation of coatings on a wall of the shaft is continuously cleaned off and dislodged from that wall by descending material particles in the feed material so that the feed shaft is self cleaning.

  • Patent number: 7472853
Abstract: Described is a roller mill (1) for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, said roller mill (1) comprising a housing (3) which surrounds a grinding table (7) which is rotatable about a vertical axis (5), said grinding table being supported via a support (9) by a machine foundation (11), at least one roller (13) rotatable about a substantially stationary axis (12), said roller being configured for interaction with the grinding table (7) and an electric motor (15), which comprises a rotor (16) which is firmly connected to the grinding table (7) and a stator (17). The roller mill is peculiar in that the stator (17) constitutes an integral part of the support (9) for the grinding table (7), so that at least some of the load imposed by the at least one roller (13) on the grinding table (7) is transmitted via the stator (17) to the machine foundation (11).

  • Patent number: 4489895
Abstract: A vertical roller mill has a rotary grinding table (1), grinding rollers (3) and a nozzle ring (13) surrounding the table for providing an air stream to entrain ground material. Downstream of each roller is a scraper (20) with a nozzle for directing a blast of air onto the crushed material leaving the roller to break up the material so that finer fractions pass into the conveying air stream and coarser fractions are carried on the table to the next roller.
