  • Patent number: 9855955
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for operating a vehicle. The vehicle is operated by tracking a location of the vehicle, a vehicle configuration and external conditions around the vehicle over a time period. A repetitive occurrence is identified, the repetitive occurrence having a start condition and an end condition and a transition path between the start position and the end condition. The number of times the repetitive occurrence occurs during the time period is determined and compared to a first threshold. When the first threshold is satisfied and the vehicle is located at the start condition, a function is provided, that when activated by an operator of the vehicle, will automatically transition the vehicle along the transition path between the start position and the end condition.

  • Publication number: 20170357096
Abstract: A laser beam expander has at least two negative lenses with adjustable collimation. The amount of required motion can be reduced by an order of magnitude over single negative lens approaches by splitting the input lens in two and adjusting the small remaining air gap between the lenses. The change in collimation may be accomplished by heating/cooling (i.e., thermal), mechanical motion (e.g., motors), electro-optical means (e.g., applying or reducing an electric current), any combination thereof, or any other suitable mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20170334545
Abstract: An aircraft horizontal tail plane (HTP) of the continuous type, wherein the inner-most ribs of the right-hand side and left-hand side torsion boxes are arranged to have one end joined right at the joint zone where both rear spars meet at axis of symmetry of the HTP. In this way, the loads at this central region of the HTP are concentrated at the joint zone where the inner-most ribs and the rear spars converge. The HTP can be manufactured with a reduced number of components.

  • Publication number: 20170195396
Abstract: A system for providing efficient delivery of media content to the masses is disclosed. In particular, the system may include receiving requests for content from a plurality of user devices. The system may then include synchronizing fulfillment timeframes for delivering the content based on a preset time interval. In response to the requests, the system may deliver the content, such as via a satellite network, to a storage device, such as, but not limited to, a digital video recorder, a video-ready-access device equipped with a satellite receiver and antenna, a digital subscriber line access multiplexer equipped with a satellite received and antenna, or any combination thereof, based on the preset time interval. The system may then include causing the storage device to deliver the requested content to the plurality of user devices via a wireless network communicatively linked to the plurality of user devices.

  • Publication number: 20150375846
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a leading edge of an aircraft lifting surface, the leading edge having a leading edge skin and a supporting structure including at least two spars span-wise arranged and fixed internally to the leading edge skin. In the method of the invention, the supporting structure is obtained from a single laminate of plies of composite material, which is conformed in such that in a cross-sectional view, the laminate includes a trapezoidal configuration which forms a front spar and a rear spar of the supporting structure. A leading edge obtained by the above-described method is disclosed. Since the supporting structure of the leading edge is obtained from a single component, namely the laminate, the manufacturing method is simplified and production costs are significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 8639741
Abstract: In the method of the invention, requests received by a request distributor are distributed to server computers. The request distributor uses distribution information for selecting, as a destination for the requests, a server computer. A first request relating to a delivery of a service is received by the request distributor and sent to one server computer. The server computer then receives the first request. Finally, it is determined whether a further request relating to the delivery of the service is expected to be received by the request distributor, and, if so, distribution information is made available to the request distributor.

  • Patent number: 8528065
Abstract: The present invention provides means and method for Single Sign-On authentication of a user accessing a service network through an access network when the user has been already authenticated by a core network where the user holds a subscription. Therefore, a number of means are provided in different entities distributed between the core network and the service network, as well as in the user's equipment, for carrying out the proposed method. The Single Sign-On authentication takes place upon matching in the service network a shared key for the user submitted from the core network with another shared key for the user derived at the user's equipment.

  • Publication number: 20120191754
Abstract: For locating subscription data in a multi-tenant network, a request to be processed on the basis of subscription data is received in a subscription data locator (110). The subscription data locator (110) obtains an identity of a tenant-specific database (220A, 220B) maintaining the subscription data. The subscription data locator (110) then embeds the identity of the tenant-specific database (220A, 220B) in the request and forwards the request to a front-end (150-1, 150-n). The front-end (150-1, 150-n) then selects the tenant-specific database (220A, 220B) on the basis of the embedded identity and accesses the selected tenant-specific database when processing the request.

  • Patent number: 7848737
Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of detecting possible fraud situations where there may be a plurality of access sessions simultaneously active in a user session for a user, the access sessions established through a number of access points of one or more wireless local area networks (WLAN). Therefore, the present invention provides for a mechanism, which includes means and method, whereby user sessions suspicious of fraud are reported to the operator network holding a subscription for the user. Moreover, the present invention also facilitates support for Single Sign-On services for a user.

  • Patent number: 7546459
Abstract: An authentication server (e.g., AAA server) is described herein which is located in a CDMA2000 network and used to authenticate a user terminal that is connected to a non-CDMA2000 network. The authentication server receives an access request for authenticating the user terminal connected to the non-CDMA2000 network. Then, it obtains a root secret key shared between the user terminal and the CDMA2000 network and generates a GSM or UMTS-like authentication vector which is used to authenticate the user terminal according to a GSM or UMTS-like authentication method. The access of the terminal to the non-CDMA2000 network is granted upon successful authentication. According to embodiments of the invention, the non-CDMA2000 network can be a WLAN network, and the authentication methods used can be EAP SIP or EAP AKA. The present invention allows one to use authentication servers that were originally intended for WLAN-3GPP interworking scenarios also in WLAN-CDMA2000 network interworking.

  • Patent number: 7348421
Abstract: This invention relates to the isolation of a novel tonB operon from Pseudomonas putida. These genes are useful to render the cells more sensitive to antibiotics, toluene, pHBA, aromatic compounds, parabenes, and aromatic amino acids after inactivation with specific mutant allels or more tolerant to these compounds after overexpression with appropriate expression vector. These findings are important in the field of medicine and biotechnology and biocatalysis. In addition a screen to identify pHBA tolerant genes is provided and strains with significant tolerance to pHBA were identified. These strains are important for pHBA production.
