Publication number: 20060036082Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of recovering mammalian cell clones adapted to serum and protein-free media, the procedure includes a two-stage adaptation process to grow in that condition. The present invention discloses a critical protein concentration interval in which cells must grow in order to gain the capacity to survive in serum and protein-free condition, once the cells have grown at the critical interval concentrations, subsequent decreases of the concentration will affect neither viability nor cellular doubling time. The critical protein concentration interval is cell line specific. Furthermore, in the present invention mammalian cells clones are disclosed, which are stable in serum- and protein-free media for at least 40 generations; additionally, clones disclosed in the present invention express a recombinant product.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2003Publication date: February 16, 2006Applicant: CENTRO DE INMUNOLOGIA MOLECULARInventors: Rolando Perez Rodriguez, Adolfo Castillo Vitlloch, Svieta Vitores Sarazola, Tammy Boggiano Ayo, Luis Rojas Del Calvo

Publication number: 20050273514Abstract: A system for automated and optimized file transfers among devices in a network comprises a client configured to request a file transfer, a server configured to transfer the requested file to the client, and a scheduling module configured to schedule delivery of the file to the client. The scheduling module preferably schedules the delivery of the file to be completed by a deadline. In an alternate embodiment, the file is transferred to a device in the network that did not send the request. The file transfer may be requested by a user at the client or may be requested by a pre-fetch module of the client.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2001Publication date: December 8, 2005Inventors: Ray Milkey, Srikanth Subramaniam, John Ruttenberg, Walter Lichtenstein, David Lemke, Ashfaq Munshi, Luis Rojas, Fouad Tobagi

Publication number: 20050006088Abstract: An electro acoustic device and related method for increasing the production capacity of wells that contains oil, gas and/or water is disclosed. The electro acoustic device is submerged in the well producing zone, and includes an electric generator, one or more electro acoustic transducers, and one or more wave guide systems (sonotrodes) that include radiators which transmit vibrations into the medium under treatment. The electro acoustic device produces vibrations that stimulate the occurrence of mass transfer processes within the well. According to one or more embodiments, shear vibrations are produced in the well bore region due to the phase displacement of mechanical vibrations produced along the axis of the well, achieving alternate tension and pressure due to the superposition of longitudinal and shear waves.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2003Publication date: January 13, 2005Inventors: Oleg Abramov, Vladimir Abramov, Alfredo Garreton, Luis Rojas, Andrey Pechkov

Patent number: 5804616Abstract: Epoxy-polysiloxane polymer compositions of this invention are prepared by combining a resin component with a hardener component. The resin component comprises a non-aromatic epoxy resin ingredient and a polysiloxane ingredient. The hardener component comprises an amine and optionally an organotin catalyst. The composition can also include aggregates, pigments, and other additives depending on the particular end use. The composition is prepared using a sufficient amount of water to promote hydrolysis of the polysiloxane and the polycondensation of the silanols produced by such hydrolysis. In its cured form, the epoxy-polysiloxane composition exists as a uniformly dispersed arrangement of linear epoxy chain fragments that are cross-linked with a continuous polysiloxane polymer chain, thereby forming a non-interpenetrating polymer network chemical structure that has substantial advantages over conventional epoxy systems.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1997Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Ameron International CorporationInventors: Norman R. Mowrer, Raymond E. Foscante, J. Luis Rojas

Patent number: 5760155Abstract: A polysiloxane polyurethane composition is prepared by combining in the presence of water and in a predetermined proportion an organic di- or polyisocyanate, a polyol, an hydroxyl-containing silicon material having the hydroxyl groups attached directly to a silicon atom, an organotin catalyst, an amine catalyst, a methoxy-functional silicone intermediate, and a carbinol. If desired, various different fillers, pigments, solvents, and additives for enhancing pigment wetting and flow control and the like can also be used to prepare the coating. The chemical ingredients are combined together to undergo chemical reaction to form silanol-functionalized urethane prepolymers that cure at ambient temperatures in the presence of moisture to form a polysiloxane polyurethane composition having enhanced properties of chemical and weather resistance, high tensile and tear strength, and high elongation.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1997Date of Patent: June 2, 1998Assignee: Ameron International CorporationInventors: Norman R.
