Abstract: A system for adapting at least one parameter of a controller, the system including: processor circuitry; and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor circuitry, cause the processor circuitry to: receive a robot model specification including differentiable robot dynamics, a controller specification including the at least one parameter, and a network condition specification including a non-differentiable discrete communication event; generate a differentiable simulation by: simulating the robot model specification; and transforming the non-differentiable discrete communication event into a continuous differentiable function based on a membership function; and tuning the at least one parameter using gradient-based optimization on the differentiable simulation to improve robot performance under the network condition specification; and output the tuned at least one parameter to configure the controller.

Abstract: A method for controlling access to a resource in an electronic device including a secure element with a permanent memory having an OTP area. The method includes the following steps performed first when the secure element or the electronic device boots: checking presence of at least one of a secret data and an initialization value in the permanent memory and, in a negative event, generating an initialization value and storing it into the OTP area, in a positive event, if the permanent memory includes secret data, decrypting, within the secure element, the secret data by using an algorithm using a cryptographic key and, if the permanent memory further includes an initialization value, the initialization value, and checking the integrity of the secret data by using a signature stored in the permanent memory and, on successful completion, providing access to the resource.

Abstract: The end result, with the combination of an anti-fogging system that can be thermoregulated by means of a micro controller, for rigid endoscopes, which is the subject matter of the invention, is to have an apparently standard rigid endoscope (FIG. 4) that can withstand continuous temperature changes during surgical intervention, imparting value to the endoscopic device and preventing general fogging. With this thermoregulatable anti-fogging system, temperature levels can be controlled, it thereby being easy to prevent fogging/condensation in any intervention where a rigid endoscope is used, such as hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, general surgery, arthroscopy, etc. Using the invention completely prevents the need for the surgeon to remove the endoscope from inside the patient in the middle of surgery. Thus, the surgeon does not become fatigued by continuous poor visibility.

Abstract: A gas turbine exhaust strut installed in an exhaust case of a gas turbine is disclosed which includes a trailing portion configured with an inner surface for mounting to an inner annular member of the exhaust case and an outer surface for mounting to an outer annular member of the exhaust case, a block attached to the trailing portion, an angled piece attached to the block and configured with a surface on a pressure side of the strut angled with respect to a surface of the trailing portion on the pressure side of the strut, and a transition piece attached to the block and configured with a surface on the pressure side of the strut for smoothing the transition between the height of the block on the pressure side of the strut and the height of the trailing portion on the pressure side of the strut. A method of refurbishing an exhaust strut installed in an exhaust case of gas turbine while retaining at least a portion of the strut in the exhaust case is also disclosed.
