  • Publication number: 20250018935
Abstract: A method for performing a safe emergency stopping maneuver is provided. The method comprises: detecting driver status data; initializing an emergency stop assistance system, wherein the emergency stop assistance system determines a stopping position for the emergency stop of the vehicle and at least one planned emergency stopping maneuver; detecting environment data, wherein the environment data is characteristic of an environment of the vehicle; evaluating the environment data and generating a system release variable to release the planned emergency stopping maneuver; depending on the generated system release variable, triggering a request for release of the planned emergency stopping maneuver by another passenger of the vehicle and detecting a special release variable depending on input by the other passenger; performing an adapted emergency stopping maneuver on the basis of the system release variable, the special release variable and the planned emergency stopping maneuver.

  • Publication number: 20240375661
Abstract: Technologies and techniques for selecting a target object for a longitudinal guidance system of a motor vehicle. A method includes adapting a driving parameter of the motor vehicle based on the target object. Initially, the motor vehicle is operated along a designated driving lane, adjusting the driving parameter in response to a first target object traveling ahead in the same lane. Additionally, a semi-automated lane change is initiated, transitioning the vehicle from the initial driving lane to an adjacent target driving lane and shifting focus from the first to a second target object in the new lane. If this lane change process is interrupted or aborted, the method assesses the likelihood that the vehicle will revert to the original driving lane. Depending on this likelihood, the control system either maintains the second target object, reselects the first target object, or discontinues target object selection for the continuation of the journey.

  • Patent number: 12103536
Abstract: The disclosure relates a method for generating a change of travel lane recommendation for a motor vehicle from a starting travel lane into a target travel lane, wherein the motor vehicle moves along the starting travel lane at an own speed. A current position of the motor vehicle along the starting travel lane is determined in a digital environment map. A known starting travel lane speed is stored in the digital environment map for the current position along the starting travel lane. A lane change assistant compares the own speed of the motor vehicle with the starting travel lane speed and generates the change of travel lane recommendation as soon as a deviation between the own speed and the starting travel lane speed reaches a predefined threshold.

  • Patent number: 12043255
Abstract: A lane-keeping assistance system of a motor vehicle, which is at least partially operated with assistance, in which an environment of the motor vehicle with a potential lane is detected via an optical detection device of the lane-keeping assistance system and evaluated via an electronic computing device of the lane-keeping assistance system and in which, as a function of the evaluated environment, an at least partially assisted lane-keeping movement is carried out by means of a transverse control device of the lane-keeping assistance system, wherein swarm data provided by an electronic computing device, which is external relative to the vehicle, are taken into account for evaluating the environment, wherein a future drivable route, which is outside of a detection area of the optical detection device, is evaluated on the basis of the swarm data, and a future partially assisted lane-keeping movement for the transverse control device is determined.

  • Publication number: 20240105057
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for supporting a parking process in a road section, wherein respective speeds of reference vehicles in the road section are received by a vehicle-external central computer, a statistical value for the road section is created from the respective speeds by the vehicle-external central computer, a speed of a motor vehicle while driving along the route section is detected by a driver assistance device of the motor vehicle, the detected speed is compared with the statistical value for the road section according to a predetermined comparison method, and a query signal for supporting a parking process is output by the driver assistance device to a driver of the motor vehicle by means of an output apparatus if the detected speed of the motor vehicle fulfills a predetermined criterion in respect of the statistical value while the motor vehicle is driving along the road section.

  • Publication number: 20220100190
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle as a first road user on a road, comprising: obtaining information on the current and/or a possible future traffic situation on the road; determining, based on the obtained information, whether a deviation from the present travel and/or steering direction or from a navigation destination on the road is appropriate according to a predefined criterion in order to clear the way for a second road user directly or indirectly via third road users, and if yes: determining a new destination on or at the side of the road, determining whether it is necessary to drive onto an obstacle in order to reach the new destination, and if yes, checking whether an adjustment of the chassis of the motor vehicle is compatible with driving onto the obstacle, and if yes, prompting the motor vehicle to head for the new destination.
