  • Patent number: 10380828
Abstract: A method of displaying stereoscopic 3D images of a casino game apparatus is provided. Positions of heads of two or more viewers of a display device are determined. Viewpoints of the two or more viewers are determined based, at least in part, on the head positions. Stereoscopic 3D images depicting the casino game apparatus from approximately the viewpoints of the two or more viewers are generated. A first stereoscopic image of the game apparatus from the first viewpoint is displayed with a set of pixels configured to be visible to the first viewer. A second stereoscopic image of the game apparatus from the second viewpoint is displayed with a set of pixels configured to be visible to the second viewer. The first and second stereoscopic images of the game apparatus are displayed simultaneously to the first and second viewers based, at least in part, on the first and second viewpoints.

  • Publication number: 20190051094
Abstract: A method of displaying player information in a casino using alternate reality includes generating a live video signal of a gaming environment using a camera on an electronic device; determining an identity of a player who is visible in the live video signal; retrieving information about the player from a database of registered players in response to the determined player identity; and displaying information about the player to a user of the electronic device so that the information appears to the user to be adjacent or on the player.

  • Publication number: 20190051100
Abstract: An augmented reality method for providing player action recommendations in real time includes generating a live video signal of a scene associated with a field of view of a user, wherein the scene comprises at least one gaming element associated with a game having a plurality of game rules. The method further includes determining, based on the live video signal, at least one value for each gaming element of the at least one gaming element in real time. The method further includes determining, based on the at least one gaming value and at least one of the plurality of rules, a player action recommendation in real time. The method further includes displaying an indication of the player action recommendation to the user in real time.

  • Publication number: 20190051103
Abstract: An augmented reality method for providing a wagering game having real-world and virtual elements includes generating a live video signal of a scene associated with a field of view of a user. At least one first gaming element in the scene corresponds to a first outcome of the wagering game. The method further includes determining, based on the live video signal, at least one second gaming element in real time. The method further includes displaying the at least one second gaming element to the user in association with the at least one first gaming element as part of the scene so that the second gaming element is displayed as part of the wagering game, wherein the at least one first gaming element and the at least one second gaming element corresponds to a second outcome of the wagering game.

  • Publication number: 20170148250
Abstract: A wagering gaming apparatus is provided, comprising a 3-dimensional (3D) display device configured to create for a player a visual illusion of a 3D scene for a wagering game, the 3D scene having perceived depth in a z-direction perpendicular to a physical screen having width in an x-direction and height in a y-direction; at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory processor-readable storage medium storing processor-executable instructions. The instructions may cause the at least one processor to generate the 3D scene as a view from a virtual 3D camera toward an origin position in a virtual 3D model, including defining a virtual game component as an object mesh in the virtual 3D model, the virtual game component having a designated front perspective view. The object mesh may be warped to maintain the designated front perspective view of the virtual game component in the view from the virtual 3D camera.

  • Publication number: 20160086422
Abstract: Three-dimensional displays and related techniques are provided. A method of generating a stereoscopic 3D image of a casino game apparatus is provided. A first static 2D image may be applied to a surface in a virtual 3D environment as a first texture of the surface in a first view of the virtual 3D environment. A second static 2D image may be applied to the surface in the virtual 3D environment as a second texture of the surface in a second view of the virtual 3D environment. A stereoscopic 3D image of the casino game apparatus may be generated, the stereoscopic 3D image comprising the first view of the virtual 3D environment with the first static 2D image applied as the first texture to the surface and the second view of the virtual 3D environment with the second static 2D image applied as the second texture to the surface.

  • Patent number: 8740706
Abstract: A gaming machine has a flat panel display screen that is pivotable over a range of angles to allow the player to tilt the screen to directly face the player. The screen also can be pulled toward the player for maximum comfort. The screen has user interface controls, such as part of a touch screen. The screen contains one or more accelerometers for detecting movement of the screen. The player grips the screen with both hands to control the game via movement of the screen (e.g., shaking, tilting, pushing in, or pulling out) and the touching of the user interface controls. The screen may include a vibrator for providing tactile sensations to the player. The screen allows a player to completely control a game, including wagering and carrying out the game, without releasing the screen from the player's two-handed grip.
