  • Patent number: 11425209
Abstract: There is provided a method comprising: transmitting, by a user terminal, to a state server a request for state change information of a service provided by the user terminal; receiving, by the user terminal, an indication of said state change information from the state server; and using, by the user terminal, said received indication to determine whether or not to suppress a polling relating to said service of a master server.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 2016
Date of Patent: August 23, 2022
    Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC
Inventors: Lukas Barton, Dan Mihai Dinu, Iryna Kulakova, Oleh Babyak
  • Publication number: 20180262580
Abstract: Techniques for state change information for a service are described. In an implementation, a request is received for state change information for a service provided by a server. State change information is then determined indicating whether a state of the service at the server is changed. In an implementation, the state change information is communicated for receipt by a receiving device to enable the receiving device to determine whether to suppress a polling of the server for the state of the service.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20180102992
Abstract: A first user terminal receives an incoming communication via a communication system originating from a second user of a second user terminal, the second user net yet being a contact of the first user. In dependence on one or more factors relating to the incoming communication, an automatic selection is performed between: a) prompting the first user with a quarantine experience in a user interface on the first terminal upon the receipt of the incoming communication, the quarantine experience offering the first user an option to block further attempts by the second user to communicate with the first user via said communication system, or instead b) prompting the first user with little or no quarantine experience upon the receipt of said incoming communication.

  • Patent number: 9538218
Abstract: A repository stores a contract between a service consumer and a service provider that provides a service, the contract specifying a service-level objective associated with a service to be applied for the service consumer. An enforcement device is configured according to the contract, where the configuring causes the enforcement device to perform enforcement of the service-level objective in a connection between the service consumer and the service provider, the connection allowing the service consumer to access the service in response to the enforcement device confirming that the service consumer is associated with the contract.

  • Patent number: 9514423
Abstract: A test planning tool for defining a test plan for testing updates to a software product aggregates information from a variety of diverse sources to generate an application model. The application includes a detailed model of the components of the application and their dependencies, a logical structure of the components, requirements associated with changes to the components, organizational entities responsible for the changes, and various other information, such as test coverage and defect information. The application model is presented to the user in a manner that allows the user to select components of interest, drill down and view change details and requirements, and to use that information to develop a test plan.

  • Publication number: 20100205144
Abstract: A method of creating searchable revisions of a resource for a resource repository is disclosed where a first revision of a resource is generated in the resource repository. The first revision of the resource can be approved, but the first revision of the resource is not accessible to a consumer searching the resource repository until the first revision of the resource is approved. A second revision of the resource subsequent to the first revision of the resource is generated, but the second revision of the resource is not accessible to a consumer searching the resource repository until the second revision of the resource is approved. A searchable artifact in the resource repository is also generated for each revision of the resource in the resource repository.
