Abstract: Provided is a method for providing map data for road vehicle navigation. The method includes receiving sensor data including sensor acquisition of a road infrastructure. Furthermore, the method includes analyzing the sensor data to identify at least one ramp structure present in the road infrastructure and configured to potentially serve for a passenger as an entry and/or exit aid into or out of a road vehicle. Furthermore, the method includes generating the map data indicating the at least one ramp structure identified. Furthermore, there is provided method using those map data, and corresponding apparatuses, system, and computer program.

Abstract: A method for operating a driving assistance system for a motor vehicle includes receiving first data configured to indicate an announcement of at least one of a driving situation and a road situation being expected to be of the motor vehicle. Furthermore, the method includes determining at least one parameter of at least one detection device of the driving assistance system based on the first data. Furthermore, the method includes providing the at least one parameter for preconditioning the at least one detection device to the at least one of the driving situation and the road situation. Furthermore, there is provided a corresponding apparatus, a driving assistance system, a motor vehicle, and a computer program.

Abstract: Methods and driving control systems for utilizing region-specific driving habits for the control of a motor vehicle are provided. A method includes determining a current position of the motor vehicle, and assessing, by a driving control unit of the motor vehicle, whether region-specific driving habits exist in a geographical area around the current position of the motor vehicle, wherein the region-specific driving habits characterize non-statutory driving rules followed by residential traffic participants within the respective geographical area. The method further includes and at least one of: adapting a vehicle configuration of the motor vehicle according to the assessed region-specific driving habits within the respective geographical area; and providing, with the driving control unit, region-specific control assistance to a driver of the motor vehicle and/or region-specific control commands to the motor vehicle based on the assessed region-specific driving habits within the respective geographical area.

The system further comprises a control device configured to assess, based on the cargo measurement data of the sensor system, whether cargo is overhanging from the motor vehicle and to calculate an updated vehicle length and/or vehicle width for the motor vehicle accounting for the overhanging cargo.
