  • Patent number: 10512546
Abstract: Method for manufacturing an auxiliary device suitable for the manufacture of a patient customized implant comprising the steps of: 1) obtaining 3D image data, preferably a CT of a defect site of a patient's anatomy (1); 2) generating a computer model of the defect site based on the 3D image data and 3D generic reference data by using image processing techniques; 3) virtually reconstructing the defect site; 4) generating a computer template (30) which represents an auxiliary device (40) that is suitable for sizing, shaping and positioning of alloplastic implants; and 5) manufacturing an auxiliary device (40) using 3D printing. Furthermore, there is provided a method for manufacturing a patient customized implant using the auxiliary device and a method for the reconstruction of a particular anatomy by using the manufactured patient customized implant.

  • Publication number: 20160331463
Abstract: A method for generating a 3D reference computer model of at least one anatomical structure for comparison with a selectable pre-, intra- or postoperative set of medical images of at least one anatomical structure, the method including: acquiring at least a first and a second medical image of at least one anatomical structure in a preoperative status from different perspectives using a computer assisted medical imaging device, wherein the first and second medical images are represented by a respective first and second set of digital 2D image data; and generating a 3D reference computer model of an anatomical structure by selecting and extracting a 3D atlas model of an anatomical structure to be treated from a generic anatomical atlas provided in the form of a digital data source, and registering at least a section of each of the first and second medical images to the selected 3D atlas model.

  • Publication number: 20150227679
Abstract: A method for generating a graphical 3D computer model of anatomical structures in a selectable pre-, intra-, or postoperative status that includes: (A) receiving a preoperative first medical 3D image data set of anatomical structures to be treated of a patient; (B) generating a first graphical 3D computer model of the anatomical structures to be treated in the form of a digital data set using the data received in step (A); (C) receiving a second medical 2D or 3D image data set of the anatomical structures to be treated; (D) generating a second graphical 2D or 3D computer model of the anatomical structures to be treated in the form of a digital data set using the data received in step (C); and (E) carrying out an image registration process of the first graphical 3D computer model using the second graphical 2D or 3D computer model.

  • Publication number: 20100137881
Abstract: The arrangement for planning and carrying out a surgical procedure comprises a medical imaging device, a computer for storing and generating a computer model by means of the image data generated by the imaging device, and a work means for carrying out a processing operation. The work means is configured as a three-dimensional computer mouse and has a connecting means by means of which a part, such as an instrument, a tool, or an implant, can be positioned. The part is illustrated as a template in a computer model of the part of the patient to be treated.

  • Publication number: 20080199827
Abstract: In order to produce a device for guiding a surgical tool, a support repositionable on a human body is produced. Three-dimensional radiological information delivered by said support and the treatable area of the human body are used for developing a virtual model of the support and the human body treatable area by means of computer assistance. Said virtual model makes it possible to determine at least one axis and to transfer said axis onto the repositionable support, thereby enabling it to be produced directly on a patient's jaw or the model thereof.
