The main valve, when in a closed state, prevents liquid from flowing through the main line and, when in an open state, allows liquid to flow through the main line. The main valve is switchable between open and closed via an operator-controlled element. The main line has a suction chamber between the connection and the pump and a pressure chamber between the pump and the spray opening. The pressure chamber is fluidically connected to the suction chamber via a bypass line. A free cross-sectional area of the bypass line is settable via a bypass valve in the bypass line for regulating pressure in the pressure chamber.
