  • Publication number: 20250173154
Abstract: Techniques for booting a computing device are disclosed. An example method includes, in response to powering on or rebooting a computing device, performing a pre-boot process comprising loading an Operating System (OS) installer into storage of the computing device and executing the OS installer. The method also includes entering, by a processing device executing the OS installer, a standby state after performing the pre-boot process. The method also includes in response to receiving an activation instruction, exiting the standby state and installing an operating system of the computing device.

  • Patent number: 11233813
Abstract: Systems and methods for discovering and provisioning computing devices within a computing environment. An example method may comprise: loading a first kernel from a removable storage, wherein the first kernel identifies device information of the computing device when executed; transmitting a provisioning request comprising the device information to a provisioning device over a network; receiving provisioning data and a second kernel over a network, the second kernel comprising an operating system installer; and overwriting the first kernel with the second kernel.

  • Patent number: 10761681
Abstract: Systems and methods to generate an icon that visually represents a server. An input associated with a server is identified. The input (e.g., a MAC address) includes a vendor identifier having a hexadecimal value. The hexadecimal value of the vendor identifier is converted to a first decimal value and mapped to a corresponding value on a red, blue, green (RGB) scale to determine a color. The icon is generated having the color and displayed as a visual representation of the server.

  • Patent number: 9921715
Abstract: Systems and methods to generate and provide a user interface to display a shape-based icon that visually represents a server in a user interface. An example method may include identifying a media access control (MAC) address associated with a server, the MAC address including a vendor identifier and a server identifier; determining a first color in view of the vendor identifier and a second color in view of the server identifier; determining a first shape in view of the vendor identifier and a second shape in view of the server identifier; generating a shape-based icon comprising the first shape having the first color and the second shape having the second color; and providing the user interface to display the shape-based icon that visually represents the server.
