  • Patent number: 10796386
Abstract: The LOCATION-CONSCIOUS SOCIAL NETWORKING APPARATUSES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS (“LCSN”) transforms user personality and location inputs via LCSN components into match and transaction outputs. LSCN may be a processor-implemented method for location-conscious social networking, involving collecting personality details pertaining to a user, analyzing the personality details and constructing a personality profile for the user. The LCSN may also collect geolocation information from the user and compare it to geolocation data from other users, may use user personality profiles to calculate a compatibility rating between the user and other users, and may send an alert to users if the geolocation data indicates that the user is within a specified distance of another user, and/or if the users are matches for each other. Users may further be able to express anonymous interest in other users by anonymously rating potential matches.

  • Patent number: 10309194
Abstract: A downhole distributor valve includes a housing that includes a housing fluid port therethrough, a mandrel that defines a bore and is positioned radially within the housing, and a fluid chamber radially defined between the housing and the mandrel and configured to contain a fluid at a particular pressure. The mandrel includes a mandrel fluid port therethrough. The mandrel is moveable from a first position with the bore fluidly decoupled from the housing fluid port to a second position with the bore fluidly coupled with the housing fluid port through the mandrel fluid port. The mandrel is moveable based on a hydrostatic pressure in the bore greater than the particular pressure of the pressurized fluid.

  • Patent number: 9416623
Abstract: A tool string having a pressure dependent mandrel and actuator assembly can operate at the annulus pressure within a wellbore to lock the mandrel actuator assembly and prevent further motion of the mandrel within the tool string as the tool string is moved upward or downward in the wellbore. The tool string can further include a valve connected to the actuator assembly, where the valve can be in an open configuration within the wellbore due to the annulus pressure and related motion of the mandrel, and then be locked in an open configuration regardless of the annulus pressure as the tool string is moved upward or downward in the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 8543633
Abstract: A modified Gram-Schmidt QR decomposition core implemented in a single field programmable gate array (FPGA) comprises a converter configured to convert a complex fixed point input to a complex floating point input, dual port memory to hold complex entries of an input matrix, normalizer programmable logic module (PLM) to compute a normalization of a column vector. A second PLM performs complex, floating point multiplication on two input matrix columns. A scheduler diverts control of the QRD processing to the normalizer PLM or the second PLM. A top level state machine communicates with scheduler and monitors processing in normalizer PLM and second PLM and communicates the completion of operations to scheduler. A complex divider computes final column for output matrix Q using floating point arithmetic. Multiplexer outputs computed values as elements of output matrix Q or R. Complex floating point operations are performed in a parallel pipelined implementation reducing latencies.

  • Patent number: 8322426
Abstract: A downhole actuator apparatus that selectively maintains a pressure differential between two pressure regions in a well. The apparatus includes a body defining first and second chambers. A piston is slidably disposed in the body and is selectively moveable between first and second positions. A barrier is disposed in the body to selectively separate the first and second chambers. A fluid is disposed in the first chamber between the barrier and the piston. A control system that is at least partially disposed within the body is operable to generate an output signal responsive to receipt of a predetermined input signal. The output signal is operable to create a failure of the barrier such that at least a portion of the fluid flows from the first chamber to the second chamber and the piston moves from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 8217679
Abstract: A method of calculating total power usage of a field programmable gate array (FPGA) without external components generates at least one coefficient based on a power equation and a given FPGA logic design, wherein the power equation calculates FPGA power as a function of temperature and voltage. The at least one coefficient is applied to the power equation along with internally generated temperature and voltage measurement values. The temperature measurement and the voltage measurement values are applied to the power equation with the at least one coefficient applied to calculate a power measurement based on the temperature measurement value and the voltage measurement value. The at least one coefficient is generated by taking an FPGA design and iteratively simulating the design in a power estimation tool over a range of temperature and input voltage values. A characterization data set is generated and curve fitted to the power equation to produce the at least one coefficient.
