Publication number: 20250036448Abstract: The present application is directed to stranded resource recovery in a cloud computing environment. A resource utilization signal at each of a plurality of nodes that each hosts corresponding virtual machines (VMs) is measured. Based on each resource utilization signal, a set of candidate nodes is identified. Each candidate node comprises a stranded resource that is unutilized due to utilization of a bottleneck resource. The identification includes calculating an amount of the stranded resource at each candidate node. From a plurality of VMs hosted at the set of candidate nodes, a set of candidate VMs is identified for migration for stranded resource recovery. The identification includes calculating a score for each candidate VM based on a degree of imbalance between the stranded resource and the bottleneck resource at a candidate node hosting the candidate VM. Migration of at least one candidate VM in the set of candidate VMs is initiated.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2022Publication date: January 30, 2025Inventors: Saurabh AGARWAL, Bo QIAO, Chao DU, Jayden CHEN, Karthikeyan SUBRAMANIAN, Nisarg SHETH, Qingwei LIN, Si QIN, Thomas MOSCIBRODA, Luke Rafael RODRIGUEZ

Patent number: 10725625Abstract: A method and system. In response to receiving a click on a first link included in a parent webpage being displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI) on which a parent tab associated with the parent webpage is displayed: a new tab corresponding to the first link is created, the new tab is displayed on the GUI, the parent webpage is replaced by a new webpage associated with the first link, and a screenshot of the parent webpage is generated and saved to a tooltip attribute of the new tab. A cursor of a pointing device hovering above the new tab is detected. The screenshot is retrieved from the tooltip attribute and persistently displayed on the GUI. During displaying the screenshot and with the hovering above the new tab no longer occurring, a click on the screenshot is received and in response, the parent webpage in the GUI is reopened.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2019Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Luke Chen, Paige Chen, Ken Liu, Paul Yuan

Publication number: 20120166080Abstract: A method, a system and a computer-readable medium for reconstructing a vehicle moving path are provided. In the method, a plurality of vehicle recognition results of a plurality of first monitoring frames captured by a plurality of first type road monitors are received and compared to find at least one similar vehicle. Next, according to a disposition location of each first road monitor and the comparison result of each vehicle, at least one passing spot and a driving time that each vehicle moves between the disposition locations are estimated. Then, tracking data of at least one moving object appeared in multiple second monitoring frames captured by multiple second type road monitors disposed in the passing spots is inquired. Finally, the vehicles are compared with the tracked moving objects to find the moving object associated with each vehicle, so as to construct a complete moving path of each vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2011Publication date: June 28, 2012Applicant: INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTEInventors: Shang-Chih Hung, Yi-Fei Luo, Jian-Ren Chen, Luke Chen, Chieh-Chen Cheng

Publication number: 20060150026Abstract: The present invention is a module testing tool for Web services. In one embodiment, the present invention automates the testing of Web services that use SOAP as a wire protocol and HTTP as a transport protocol. The invention provides an easy interface for exercising Web services and testing their functionality. The invention helps users confirm the responses to SOAP messages with such features as fault detection, textual comparisons, XML validation by DTDs or XML Schemas, and the ability to express and flag complex patterns in XML. The invention lets the users validate responses that require application-specific verification (such as business logic validation) by plugging in their own code. It also provides the capability to perform regression testing of web services. The invention can automatically creates regression test controls from SOAP Client responses, or users can create their own regression tests.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2006Publication date: July 6, 2006Inventors: Adam Kolawa, James Clune, Wendell Hicken, Luke Chen
