  • Patent number: 7191965
Abstract: A material spreader includes a belt/chain assembly. The belt is mounted within the chamber of the material spreader and the chain remains out of contact with the material during the operation of the device. A sliding barrier is mounted at the rear of the belt, and moves from a forward position adjacent the front of the spreader to a rear position adjacent the rear of the spreader. One form of the hydraulic system utilizes a sensor for built up pressure within independently driven augers. In response to this pressure build up the sliding barrier speed is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6345772
Abstract: A field marking system includes a marking solution storage tank, a mixing volume fluidly connected to the storage tank and configured to mix marking solution from the storage tank with pressurized air, a nozzle fluidly connected to the mixing volume and an engine including a turbocharger. The turbocharger supplies pressurized air to at least one of the solution storage tank and the mixing volume. In one exemplary embodiment, the turbocharger supplies pressurized air to both the solution storage tank and the mixing volume. The marking system additionally includes a valve connected between the solution storage tank and the mixing volume and a control circuit coupled to the valve. In one exemplary embodiment, the control circuit generates a control signal such as the valve modulates based upon the control signal to vary production of marking medium.

  • Patent number: 6119963
Abstract: A boom assembly includes a central support, a first wing pivotably coupled to the central support so as to rotate about a first axis, a first cylinder-piston assembly having a first end pivotably coupled to the support, a second end pivotably coupled to the first wing at a first pivot point for rotation about a second axis on a first side of the first axis, and a second cylinder-piston assembly having a first end pivotably coupled to the support and a second end pivotably coupled to the first wing at a second pivot point for rotation about a third axis on a second side of the first axis. Extension and retraction of the first and second cylinder-piston assembly applies varying opposing torque to the first wing depending upon an angular orientation of the first wing about the first axis.
