Patent number: 10665109Abstract: An example method and apparatus are disclosed. An infrastructure device is mounted to construction equipment located at a road construction zone with an input view of a predefined area of a road. The device may receive sensor data of road users and the road construction zone. Responsive to the sensor data, the device classifies objects as construction lane markers and determines coordinates of the construction lane markers. Using map data indicative of drivable lane boundaries of the road construction zone, the device determines whether the construction lane markers are within the drivable lane boundaries. Responsive to the determination, temporary lane boundaries for the construction zone are computed and transmitted in a data set to at least one autonomous vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2019Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: sibrtech inc.Inventors: Anthony Luke Simon, Joseph Buck, Michael Patrick Simon

Publication number: 20140365454Abstract: The relevance of entities to search queries is determined using a triangulation approach. The triangulation approach determines the relevance of entities to documents and the relevance of documents to a search query. The relevance of each entity to the search query is then determined as a function of the relevance of the entities to the documents and the relevance of the documents to the search query. The entity/query relevance determination may be employed when returning a search result experience in response to search queries.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2013Publication date: December 11, 2014Inventors: LUKE SIMON, TAROON MANDHANA

Patent number: 8554700Abstract: This patent application pertains to answer model comparison. One implementation can determine a first frequency at which an individual answer category appears in an individual slot on a query results page when utilizing a first model. The method can ascertain a second frequency at which the individual answer category appears in the individual slot on the query results page when utilizing a second model. The method can calibrate the second model so that the second frequency approaches the first frequency.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2010Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Tapas Kanungo, Kuansan Wang, Ran Gilad-Bachrach, Kieran McDonald, Kumaresh Pattabiraman, Christopher Meyers, Ashok Ponnuswami, Luke Simon

Patent number: 6810318Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of torque transfer, torque transfer units, and vehicles incorporating the same. According to the method, a delta signal indicative of a rotational condition of the first driveline is generated and a torque transfer unit is controlled as a function of a torque transfer control algorithm. The control algorithm commands a transfer torque representing an amount of torque to transfer from the source of power to one of the first and second drivelines. The torque transfer control algorithm is a function of the delta signal and is substantially independent of any rotational condition of the second driveline over a primary operational range of the algorithm. Reference values may comprise a desired vehicle acceleration value, an actual vehicle acceleration value, a vehicle ground speed value, temporally displaced first driveline acceleration values, temporally displaced first driveline speed values, and combinations thereof.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2002Date of Patent: October 26, 2004Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Cary Walter Brooks, Anthony Luke Simon, Allen John Walenty

Patent number: 6043566Abstract: A switch selectively connects an airbag inflator or a load resistor to a crash sensing module to enable or disable an airbag. A transistor circuit across the load resistor detects whether deployment current is flowing in that resistor. Another transistor activated by the first transistor passes current to a fuse to open the fuse, permanently indicating a deployment event when the airbag was disabled. A latch circuit holds the second transistor on to assure sufficient time to open the fuse by melting.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1997Date of Patent: March 28, 2000Assignee: Delco Electronics Corp.Inventors: Mark R Bryant, Charles Allen Gray, Troy Allen Wideman, Shailendra Verma, Anthony Luke Simon
