Abstract: A method including receiving a request to access a meeting record from a user is provided. The meeting record may indicate at least one meeting participant, an audio/video recording and a presentation from one of the participants in the meeting. The method includes verifying an access privilege of the user for the meeting record, providing the meeting record to the user, for playback of a selected portion, and providing, in the meeting record, a selecting tool to the user, for playing the selected portion, wherein the selecting tool is configured to playback the selected portion for one of multiple participants in the meeting.

Abstract: A method for providing a meeting record to a meeting participant is provided. The method includes identifying a presence, in a meeting, of one participant and identifying a start of the meeting. The method also includes recording during the meeting, from the participant or from multiple participants, an audio, a video, and recording, from one of the participants in the meeting, a presentation. The method includes creating a meeting record with identifications of the participants in the meeting, the audio of the participant, the video of the participant, and the presentation from one of the participants in the meeting by forming a timeline file with a condensed transcript of highlights from the audio and the video, and providing the meeting record for a playback to a second participant in the meeting, upon request. A system and a non-transitory medium storing instructions to cause the system to perform the above method are also provided.

Abstract: Methods and systems for recommending events during a media session are provided. In one aspect, a method includes monitoring communication streams of the session and analyzing data of the streams to detect at least one intent and at least one entity. The method includes determining, responsive to detecting the at least one intent, whether the at least one intent is a question or a task, and includes identifying, responsive to determining that the at least one intent is the question is associated with the at least one entity, presence information associated with the at least one entity. The method includes transmitting, during the session, responsive to determining that the at least one intent is the question associated with the at least one entity and based on the presence information, an in-session recommendation to initiate an event associated with the at least one entity. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing media quality of a collaboration are provided. In one aspect, a method includes determining whether first and at least second clients are associated with a first and second identified location, respectively, that are associated with a first set of discovered constraints calculated from monitoring first parameters of at least one previous collaboration session associated with the first identified location and with a second set of discovered constraints calculated from monitoring second parameters of at least one previous collaboration session associated with the second identified location, respectively.

Abstract: A method including receiving, from a participant, a request for starting an event including at least one second participant and a topic is provided. The method includes providing to one second participant an invitation to join the event, receiving, from any one of the participants, a document, and providing the document to all participants for view and/or editing, and providing the document to all participants upon request within a time period. The method includes granting access to the event to a participant, permitting the participant to access and modify the document in the event, and receiving a request from one of the participants to switch one of the first client device or a second client device used by a participant to continue to participate in the event. A system to perform the above method is also provided.

In response to the warning signal, an acoustic echo canceller of an IP telephone discontinues its adapting process. A signaling network switch detects when a periodic signal is present in the audio content, and issues a warning signal. A signaling call manager device, when it transmits a tone that has periodicity, it also transmits a warning signal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for providing an improved interface to a caller during the initiation of a VoIP call. The present invention includes placing, by the caller, a request for information regarding a party to be called; returning a URL responsive to the request; and displaying to the caller one or more connection options corresponding to the URL. Additional aspects of the present invention include choosing, by the caller, at least one of the one or more connection options, and placing a call responsive to the one or more connection options chosen by the caller.

Abstract: Techniques for conducting a meeting using a meeting management system are provided. A connection from a user to a connection interface is received for a meeting being offered by the meeting management system. An input is received that provides contact information for a user. The user may choose to be a virtual participant in the meeting. A meeting interface is provided during the meeting using the meeting management system where the interface includes an option to contact the user. The user is listed as a virtual participant in the meeting. A request to contact the user is received at the meeting interface and the user is automatically connected to the user using the contact information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing a search using a search keyword and associated aliases for the search keyword are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method includes obtaining a search keyword via a user interface, and obtaining a search keyword via a user interface and automatically determining if there is at least one alias for the search keyword by searching a first database using the search keyword. The first database is a profile database that is configured to include a plurality of profiles that contain contact information, including a first profile that contains the search keyword. The method also includes automatically searching for at least one document using the alias if there is one, and the search keyword. The document is associated with a document data source.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing a list of suggested attendees for a meeting that is being scheduled using a conferencing system are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a conferencing system includes an interface that receives a keyword associated with a meeting. The system also includes a data store that stores information, logic that searches the data store to determine if a first association between the keyword and a first entity of the plurality of entities is stored, and logic that identifies the first entity as a suggested attendee for the meeting if it is determined that the association between the keyword and the entity is stored in the data store.

Abstract: A conferencing system includes a mixer operable to process audio and video packets received from a plurality of endpoint devices, and to transmit a processed audio/video stream back to the endpoint devices. A server connects with the mixer and the endpoint devices. The server is operable to send a first transmission to a first endpoint device that causes the first endpoint device to stop transmitting video packets to the mixer. The server is further operable to send a second transmission to a second endpoint device that causes the second endpoint to start transmitting video packets to the mixer. Abstract: Devices, software and methods are provided for allocating different amounts of memory of a network communication device as jitter buffer for different channels, such as VoIP connections. The channels are classified according to regions of their endpoints in the network. Jitter statistics are tracked for connections with endpoints in each region. The statistics are used to determine how much memory to allocate as a jitter buffer for each channel in a subsequent connection, depending on the region of the endpoint.

Abstract: Source devices, softwares and methods are provided for predicting at a transmitting source how well a specific encoded frame, relative to other frames in a stream, would be reconstructed if it were not available for eventual playout at a receiving destination. If poorly, then the specific encoded frame is packetized and transmitted advantageously with respect to other packets in a stream. The transmitted stream will have higher jitter. Predicting is performed at the source by synthesizing a replicated frame, which emulates how the specific frame would be reconstructed at the destination. Then the replicated frame is compared with the decoded specific frame. The eventual playout will have a higher fidelity to the original, since reconstructed from more critical frames.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for performing video conferencing is provided that includes an I-frame injector element operable to intercept I-frame requests from one or more end points and to attempt to service the I-frame requests such that at least a portion of the requests are prevented from propagating back to an originating sender. In more specific embodiments, when a receiver endpoint sends a fast video update (FVU) request upstream, it is intercepted by the I-frame injector element and rather than passing the FVU request to the sender the I-frame injector element replaces a next P-frame from the sender with an I-frame, whereby the I-frame is constructed so that when decoded, it matches the P-frame that it replaced. In still more detailed embodiments, the I-frame injector element operates in one of three modes that are associated with bandwidth parameters.

Abstract: A method and system for call answer while connected to voice mail includes generating real-time packets for transmission of a message toward a voice mail system. Generation of the real-time packets is interrupted upon a call answer by a party generating the message. Generation of the real-time packets for transmission of the message toward the voice mail system is resumed after a delay associated with the call answer. An indication is provided to the voice mail system that the real-time packets generated subsequent to the delay follow the real-time packets generated prior to the delay in the message by a time amount less than the delay.
