  • Publication number: 20130085490
Abstract: A surgical system includes a portable surgical instrument and a sleeve. The portable surgical instrument includes an end effector assembly and a housing operably coupled to the end effector assembly. The housing includes a generator and a battery assembly coupled thereto and configured to supply energy to the end effector assembly for treating tissue. The sleeve is shaped complementarily to the housing and is removably positionable about the housing. The sleeve is configured to cool the housing and/or remove heat from the housing to inhibit overheating of the generator and/or the battery assembly.

  • Publication number: 20120083786
Abstract: A bipolar electrosurgical instrument includes first and second shafts each having a jaw member extending from its distal end. Each jaw member is adapted to connect to a source of electrosurgical energy such that the jaw members are capable of selectively conducting energy through tissue held therebetween. A knife channel is configured to reciprocate a cutting mechanism therealong. An actuator selectively advances the cutting mechanism. A switch is disposed on the first shaft and is configured to be depressed between a first position and at least one subsequent position upon biasing engagement with a mechanical interface disposed on the second shaft. The first position of the switch relays information to the user corresponding to a desired pressure on tissue and the at least one subsequent position is configured to activate the source of electrosurgical energy to supply electrosurgical energy to the jaw members.

  • Publication number: 20060235378
Abstract: An electrosurgical ablation instrument connectable to an electrosurgical energy source is provided. The ablation instrument includes a handle; at least one elongate probe electrode extending from an end of the handle, each probe electrode including at least a conductive distal tip; and an intensity controller operatively supported on the handle. The intensity controller adjusts the level of energy delivered from the electrosurgical energy source to the conductive distal tips of each probe electrode.

  • Publication number: 20060224151
Abstract: A system and method for projecting a virtual user interface for controlling an electrosurgical generator is disclosed. The system includes a generator for supplying RF energy to an active electrode, and an interface device adapted to project a virtual interface and infrared light onto a surface in proximity to a surgical site and to detect at least one input within the interface. The interface device further adapted to correlate the at least one input with a corresponding command and transmit the command to the generator, for adjusting the RF energy intensity.

  • Publication number: 20030225744
Abstract: A method of obtaining information by a personal digital assistant (PDA) comprising storing a record in a database of a first PDA, the record maintaining a first data element, transmitting an interrogation command to a second PDA, the interrogation command comprising a copy of the first data element, receiving a result signal by the first PDA, the result signal indicative of an interrogation performed by the second PDA on an interrogated database maintained thereby, and providing an indication, on an output device of the first PDA, of the result signal indicative of the occurrence of a correspondence between the first data element and a data element of the interrogated database is provided.

  • Patent number: 5921422
Abstract: An enclosure having two pieces that are held together with spring clips and having a stand that covers each spring clip. The spring clips provide a high retention force for vibration and shock. The stands cover the spring clips and provide anti-slip feet. In an example embodiment, the enclosure has a hinge surface formed from mating edges of the two pieces on one side with the spring clips holding the two pieces together on an opposite side. For automated assembly, the two pieces are joined at the hinge surfaces and then snapped into the spring clips and stands.

  • Patent number: 5794772
Abstract: A container for a recordable compact disc. The container includes a window area with adjacent scales. A boundary between a recorded area and an unrecorded area on the compact disc is visible through the window area. The adjacent scales indicate recorded time, remaining time, recorded data in megabytes or remaining capacity in megabytes.
