  • Publication number: 20190329348
Abstract: An example method for joining metals is described herein. The method can include forming an intermediate joint between a light metal member and a metal insert, where the intermediate joint is formed using a solid state welding process. The method can also include forming a primary joint between the light metal member and a high strength steel member, where the primary joint is formed using a welding process that produces coalescence at a temperature above the melting point of the light metal member and/or the high-strength steel member.

  • Patent number: 10011757
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to compositions and methods that are used for the remediation of near-wellbore damage in regions of formations near injection wells in communication with subterranean reservoirs. The damage is caused by previous injection of a polymer emulsion into the injection well. A specific aspect is a method of injecting into the subterranean reservoir a composition containing an olefin sulfonate, a sulfosuccinate, and a chemical selected from an alcohol alkoxylated sulfate, an alcohol alkoxylated carboxylate, or a combination thereof. The polymer emulsion is thereby dissolved, cleaned and/or flushed away from the region near the injection well.

  • Patent number: 9926782
Abstract: Systems and methods for automated fluid sampling for tracer testing are described. In one aspect, an automated fluid sampling system includes a pressurized line, such as a production well or an injection well connectively and a fluid separation vessel receiving sample fluids therefrom. The fluid separation vessel includes a plunger and is configured for gravity-mediated phase separation of the sample fluids into a plurality of aqueous, organic and/or gas phase fluid fractions and includes pluralities of inlet and outlet ports for mediating flow of sample fluids therethrough. At least one purging fluid source, such as a gas or liquid, is used for driving the plunger. Sample fluid collection vessels receive phase-separated sample fluids from the fluid separation vessel.

  • Patent number: 7015958
Abstract: In a camera and method, a first electronic image is captured and stored in memory. A second electronic image is then captured. The second electronic image replaces the first electronic image in memory when the camera does not have a film unit loaded and the memory has capacity for storing both images. The second electronic image is stored in memory with the first electronic image when the camera has a film unit loaded and the memory has capacity for storing both images.

  • Patent number: 6672761
Abstract: A method of controlling an X-ray system and a cabinet for an X-ray system. The method comprises viewing a first virtual X-ray image of an object, manipulating the first image to best show an area of interest, and generating a second image in real time corresponding to the area of interest. The cabinet comprises an inner housing having an open mouth and being fully insertable with a clearance in an outer housing having an open mouth, the inner and outer housings being attachable to secure and space the housings in a predetermined relationship. Lead shielding comprises a substantially complete intermediate layer extending between the inner and outer housings and the open mouth is provided with a lead lined closure.
