Abstract: A muzzle loading breech plug system designed for high performance muzzle loading rifles, including, but not limited to, bolt actions and break actions. The system is comprised of the following: 1) A breech plug body threaded to fit corresponding threads on the muzzle loading firearm. 2) A bushing designed to prevent powder from passing completely through the barrel, but still allowing flame from primer to ignite powder while being resistant to gas wear. 3) A retention module/adapter insert that holds bushing in place while mating with primer holder module. 4) Primer holder module designed to hold a large rifle magnum primer and mate up with the other components of the system providing reliable sealing and consistent ignition.
