  • Patent number: 6551115
Abstract: A power jack includes an insulating housing (1) having a plug insertion hole (12), a central pin (2) received in the plug insertion hole, and a first switch contact (3) and a second switch contact (4) secured in the housing. The central pin is integrally stamped and configured from a metal sheet, which has a hollow column-shaped contacting section (21), a hollow cuboid-shaped soldering section (22) extending downwardly, and an intermediate section (23) connecting therebetween. The central pin has two wings (231) extending from opposite sides of the intermediate section and being retained in a corresponding pair of slots (131) defined in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6471546
Abstract: An electrical connector of the present invention for receiving a mating connector plug comprises an insulative housing, a shield covering a front of the insulative housing, and a terminal group received in the insulative housing for electrically connecting with the plug. The insulative housing has a front surface, and a pair of recesses in a pair of sidewalls. Each recess defines an inner wall and a bottom face. The shield comprises a front surface and a pair of securing tabs formed in a pair of side plates. Each securing tab has a pair of tines on the end. A distance from a front of each tine to a rearward side of the shield front surface is not more than the distance from the inner walls to the front surface of the insulative housing. In assembly, the tines of the securing tabs are bent into the corresponding recesses to securely engage with the inner walls and the bottom faces of the insulative housing.

  • Patent number: 6341988
Abstract: A straddle high density electrical connector of the present invention comprises an insulative housing forming a projecting portion, a shield covering the projecting portion of the insulative housing, a pair of hooks, a plurality of terminals receiving in the insulative housing, and a pair of rivets for fastening the insulative housing, the shield and the hooks together. The insulative housing further comprises a pair of clamps positioned adjacent both ends thereof and extending rearwardly for clipping a printed circuit board therebetween. Each hook is positioned adjacent the corresponding clamp and has a pair of legs extending rearwardly from the housing, each leg has a tip at a free end thereof for inserting into a corresponding through hole defined in the printed circuit board which the electrical connector is mounted onto.

  • Patent number: 6210220
Abstract: An electrical connector of the present invention comprises an insulative housing, a front shell, a pair of locking posts and a pair of integral-formed boardlocks. The insulative housing defines a pair of receiving recesses for engaging with the pair of boardlocks. Each receiving recess comprises a first slot and a second slot separated by a retaining body formed by the housing in the receiving recess. The pair of boardlocks each comprise a body section defining a screw portion used to function as a nut, a resilient section received in the first slot and abutting a rearward surface of a front wall of the housing, which is used to function as a washer, and a board-locking section retained in the second slot. Thus the boardlocks are adapted for simplifying the manufacture and assembly thereof and reducing the cost of production, compared with the prior art.
