    Abstract: A link detection system for a network cable is applicable for detecting a connection state of the network cable. If the network cable is connected to the link detection system, the network state detection unit sends a voltage level of a first signal, so as to turn on the power supply of the LAN controller. If the network cable is unplugged, the LAN controller sends a second signal, so as to turn off the power supply of the LAN controller. Alternatively, if the network cable is linked to the network interface in an idle contact state, the network state detection unit sends another voltage level of the first signal, so as to not turn on the power supply of the LAN controller, thereby reducing the power consumption of the personal computer.

    Abstract: A vertical light emitting diodes (LEDs) with new construction for reducing the current crowding effect and increasing the light extraction efficiency (LEE) of the LEDs is provided. By providing at least one current blocking portion corresponded to an electrode, the current flows from the electrode may be diffused or distributed more laterally instead of straight downward directly under the electrode and the current crowding effect could be reduced thereby. By providing at least one current blocking portion covered by a mirror layer to form an omni-directional reflective (ODR) structure, the internal light of the LEDs may be reflected by the ODR structure and the LEE could be increased thereby.

    Abstract: A mounting apparatus for mounting a data storage device includes a sliding member, a drive bracket, and a rotating member. The drive bracket includes a first side plate. A sliding groove is defined in the first side plate. The sliding member is received in the sliding groove. The rotating member is pivotally mounted to the first side plate. A curled piece and an arm are located on opposite ends of the rotating member. The arm defines a restricting room. The rotating member is adapted to rotate on the first side plate between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the curled piece abuts the first side plate and is elastically deformed by the first side plate, and the sliding member is disengaged from the restricting room. In the second position, the curled piece is released, and the restricting room receives and restricts the sliding member therein.

Without any mechanical moving parts, the dynamic liquid prism allows the concentrator to adaptively track the daily changes of the sun's orbit. The liquid prism modules may be arranged, for example, into a sheet-shaped beam steering array; a condenser device such as a Fresnel lens is then used to focus the light deflected by the modules onto one or more PV cells—preferably CPVs. Another possible concentrator architecture requires arranging a plurality of liquid prism modules into a semi-spherical pattern, such that light impinging on the modules is directed onto one or more PV cells or CPVs.

The second workpiece has an attachment hole(s). The SMP workpiece is activated (e.g., heated) to a softening temperature and a portion extruded into the attachment hole of the facing surface of the second workpiece. The SMP piece is held while still heated against the second workpiece, the material flowing as result of the shape memory effect to form an attachment. As the SMP material cools while still under load its modulus increases fixing the attachment geometry. Reheating the attached parts without pushing them together reverses the process.
