  • Publication number: 20230384313
Abstract: Provided are methods and compositions for identifying individuals having intestinal metaplasia (IM) and/or Helicobacter pylori infection based on the levels of antibodies against particular Helicobacter pylori antigens. Patient diagnosis allows for medical interventions, including therapeutic treatments, disease progression preventative measures and enhanced cancer screening. Also provided are methods and compositions for identifying individuals having IM who are at increased risk for developing gastric cancer. Patient diagnosis and stratification by risk allows for targeted screening and monitoring for signs of gastric cancer as well as earlier intervention with cancer preventative treatments.

  • Publication number: 20220404367
Abstract: Provided herein are methods, compositions, kits, and systems for diagnosing, predicting, and treating gastric cancer for a subject based on the presence and level of antibodies against particular H. pylori proteins in a biological sample obtained from the subject. In particular, provided herein are methods for identifying a subject having increased risk of developing gastric cancer, methods for detecting gastric cancer in a subject, methods for determining an H. pylori antibody signature comprising antibodies, contained in a biological sample from a subject, that specifically bind to immobilized H. pylori antigens, and kits comprising components and instructions for performing the methods of this disclosure.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20220373548
Abstract: Provided herein are methods, compositions, kits, and systems for detecting Epstein Barr virus infection (EBV) in gastric cancer (GC) patients. In particular, provided herein are methods, composition, kits, and systems for diagnosing and treating EBV-positive gastric cancer (EBV+ GC) in a biological sample of an individual based on the presence and level of antibodies against particular Epstein Barr virus proteins. EBV+ GC is a distinct subtype of gastric cancer and is associated with unique molecular profiles. Also provided herein are methods for providing more personalized therapy for each of these distinct cancer subtypes and methods for determining an Epstein Barr virus-positive gastric cancer antibody signature, and kits comprising components and protocols for performing the methods of this disclosure.

  • Publication number: 20190162725
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to detection and diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) infections. More particularly, the present disclosure provides novel immunogenic biomarkers associated with TB infections for the diagnosis and treatment of TB. Novel TB biomarkers can enhance the diagnosis and treatment of TB by providing greater accuracy and efficiency, especially for point-of-care technologies.
